1951 Chieftain 4-door in Georgia with a reserve. You know how you instantly know the smell of a 60's Volkswagen when you see a pic of the black interior? (no hate for the smellblind... if that's a thing?) When I look at the pics of this interior, I don't have happy thoughts if you want to call it that. Kind of like walking into an antique store that smells like old people. I'm old, so don't hate the truther. Anyway, this is about the last kind of car I would ever want, with one exception. Imagine you owed a business and you had to transport people for whatever reason. Paint this car Art Deco with big fat whitewalls and have the interior completely redone using a new car donor. It would really stand out. Death in the family forces sale. This is a project that needs some work to get it running as it's been sitting for awhile.

69 Grand Prix SJ in Connecticut at $27K BIN. NOM and who knows how many Teddy bears lost their lives for that interior?

That 51 has an early version of the reel-out under hood light. Nifty.

68 Firebird convertible in Florida at $90K BIN. Claims it has $150K in receipts? Nice car, but there's a lot more original cars out there for less IMO. Stunning color combination.

76 Trans AM in Texas at $158K. Another hot rod with a rollbar and a back seat. One can't get back there, and if you could it would be very dangerous, so why carry around the extra weight? Not a fan of the scoop. The seats look comfy. 70-73 nose and the paint it nice. A$king is very high.

Ever see a 81 Trans AM NASCAR painted red? You have now, and FWIW I think it looks pretty good, but I wouldn't have put the side graphic lettering on the doors if'n it were me. Interior looks amazing. Says it has a 396 SBC? With a reserve in Florida.

70 Trans AM 4-speed in CA at $35K BIN. It lives in Riverside, which is low desert, so prolly no rust. I typically bag on two-tone paint jobs, but this one works well IMO. The hood chicken is off a turbo (I think) and the top being painted blacks seams the top black part of the decal on the hood. Almost all those turbo cars had T-Tops, so tinted T-Tops look like the black top. Looks sharp IMO.

If you look at all of the photos in the listing, there is a lot wrong with this car. The overspray is disturbing. The lack of attention to metalwork at the bottoms of the panels is likewise concerning. The interior is dreadful (wrong/mismatched door and quarter panels, seats not quite as original, and what's that thing under the dash? a manual choke?). Non-working wipers? Seriously? Radiator is not right. Oh, and that is *not* Grenadier red. Nope. Yeah, this is perhaps a $12K car in my book; no more. OT: What's with these dealerships and the multiple weird/useless angle/cropped shots? Seriously, how many pictures of the taillights do we need, and how many of the headlamps? I swear, sometimes I think these guys are trying to do magazine spreads for CarCraft or some such... LOL

It's a 79
And a real actual Z-Code 400 4spd car . Not available new in California - and probably won't pass Cali Emissions now either -- unless a full factory stock exhaust is still in place. Doesn't appear to be a 4wdb car with the standard brake booster shown. Can see driver side cylinder head but can't make out the number on it. Looks like a 6 something - but not 6X |

A year or two ago a friend of mine sold that car to the seller. At the time the car was silver and needed work.
The bird looks like a 10th anniversary one. Quote:

2 68 Lemans. #1 is a nice looking convertible car that isn't posing as a GTO, though it has the GTO hood which looks good. Sharp interior and I think the mods work. $44K BIN is too steep IMO, as there are a lot of cars I'd rather have, but it is nice. No radio or AC.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/27745443412...Bk9SR7KDipbAZg ![]() ![]() ![]() 68 Lemans #2 in NJ at $40K is also too high IMO. Looks like a lot of work was done. Painted front bumper, two-tone custom paint, hood pins, rear wing etc. all boil down to finding a buyer that shares the builder's dream. https://www.ebay.com/itm/37661246297...Bk9SR_q4_pXAZg ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
