I put a Pypes exhaust on my car and am very happy with it. It is loud at the right times (when you are hard on the gas) but quiet enough at others so that you dont have a headache while driving down the road. The fit was good and the price was very good, in my opinion. I would purchase from them again anytime.

I just about finished my car this week. It just needs a little detailing but the installation of these rare accessories has been done!
What do Y'all think?

Looks good Phil.
Oh BTW... I like the rare dice too. They'd go good with my pair of rare fuzzy black 8 Balls and Lil' green Alien badge. But I hang mine from the mirror. LOL

Installing the fuzzy dice really took it's toll on me! I haven't had the strength to do anything else this week! Man, I am glad that is done. It's all downhill from there.
I really didn't do anything this week. It looks like I will start work either Friday or Monday. It is only part time but it should give me a little car money. Add that to my Birthday next month and I hope to get my exhaust system by the end of October.

I am ging with the Pypes system. I had one on my 65 and really liked it. If I was building a points car I would use the Gardner system.

Well, I started my new part-time job last Wednesday so I should be rolling in the money before too long! I reckon you can "roll" in pocket change cause that is what I am working for!
I am taking a 66% cut in pay over what I made as a trim carpenter but, at least, it will give me some spending money. I hope to order my exhaust system in about two weeks. I just can't decide if it will be worth my time and money to install the HO exhaust manifolds or just leave the stock ones on.

Your motor is stock right? You might not see alot of difference, the Pypes system with good flowing mufflers would be better.1 reason to go to the HOs is adding more power.
Opps I forgot you already had the HOs....You might as well put 'em on since you have them.I don't know if you can do your in the car,I did it but I didn't have A/C.My worst problem was the steering column was in the way.I changed heads AND HOs at the same time,Tim Moll helped me. |

The A/C is not installed yet. I would have to buy a new wiring harness, positive battery cable, cable tube and a bolt set in addition to the exhaust system
I could probably sell the engine harness I have now and recoup some of the money. I just don't know if it would be worth it.

Work SUX! It gets in the way of havin fun! I can't wait to see my first paycheck. After all the deductions I hope there's enough left tp pay for the gas to get to work. I had to buy my uniform shirts!
Oh well, like I said in an earlier post, I hope to get my Pypes system in a few weeks. Other than that I am at a standstill. I am down to the big money stuff and it will have to wait. After the exhaust I plan on having Pete redo my instrument cluster. I still have to get the bumpers re-chromed and the stainless body trim. But, it will come and one day I will be ridin' in style!

Jim,
Thanks, I found your post and listened to it through the crappy speakers on my computer. It still sounded good but, i think I will want something a little quieter. I may try the Race Pros. PHil

Hey Y'all, how's it going? I am going to order my new exhaust system this week unless something unforseen happens.
I have decided to go with the Pypes 2.5" with X pipe and race pro mufflers.I am also going to use the stock manifolds, for now. I think I read somewhere about a sealant used at the joints, anybody know what I am talking about? Next on my list is sending my instrument cluster to Pete and let him work his magic on it.
