I saw the yellow Hemi'Cuda go through at $120 or 125k and couldn't believe it. That was a fantastic looking car and you don't see a lot them in yellow.

Huge dips in price for all three, assuming they were well done with proper documentation. I'd be buying if I had that kind of coin.

It looked like a very nicely done GSX, but if it was real, it would have sold for much more than 21K.
I, for one, am glad that the Mopar clone market is suffering. Picked up a nice '68 hemi Roadrunner clone a few weeks ago for a song. Nicely done car with a new hemi, alum Mopar heads, dual quads, etc. Looks stock, but slight mini-tub, warmed over motor (550 hp), subframe connectors. Bench seat column shift 727. 50 miles on the car since it was completed.

also...

2 mint cond KR GT500 converts going for 130-150K

all i an say is WOW...

you better believe this is 2009 (vs 2006)

exceptions to every rule but this looks like a 50% haircut or so off the top/peak we saw just a couple of yeas ago...

and as much as 25-30% off just last yr...

As for mr BJ....Craig jackson (not to mention reggie jackson who was bidding up his own zl1!) got to be puking over these "top end" market numbers...

really hope this doesnt portend what we will see economically (forget cars) going forward in 09...

Today rhey are saying it wasn't Reggie's car. Supposedly he previously owned the car and was trying to help the current seller. That doesn't explain the Reggie Jackson license plate frames on the car. Also loved the trim rings and Chevy air cleaner sticker on the totally correct 70 judge.

I'm a big fan of '68-'69 B-bodies as well, but '67 and '70 aren't far behind.

Also have a '71 GTX, black on black, 2 owner car, 61k original miles, Dana, Air Grabber, spoilers, 2 fender tag car.

Here are a few pics of the RR.

has he done anything to it? i really cant believe i sold it. he ran a wanted ad in hemmings and i was in a " i hate all cars " mood and called him priced it dirt cheap and he bought it. right after i offered it to him i had a change of mind, but i am not the kind of person to go back on my word so he got it cheap cheap cheap.

Bulletpruf:

Nice RR. I also like the other B bodies - coronet, charger, and the 66-67 plymouths. I have a friend with a 64 Savoy 426 SS clone (original 426 car, but not a Super Stock) - Black/red int, pushbutton auto, dog dish caps, radio/heater delete, etc. I love that car. I love driving it & love how it looks. He also has a 68 Hemi Dart clone in as-delivered black/grey primer. It is a beast - 660 hp 482ci Hemi.

I love Mopars, but most are out of my price range.

Does anyone know the details of the green 69 GTO that sold on Sunday? It looks like it was Limelight Green.

So what is going to happen to those outed rebody cars? Since, it is a felony to rebody a car. Will they crush a ZL1 that someone just ponied up 290K? I'm sure someone has notified the feds.

Mike,
You know that ZL-1 Rebodied Camaro belonged to Reggie Jackson along with the Rebodied 1970 Yenko Deuce Nova that fetched around $80K.He's a celebrity, did you forget normal laws that we have to abide by do not apply to them!!!!!!!

Formerly owned by Reggie is what I heard. But, I can see your point!!

Wasn't the Green ZL-1 not only a rebody, but was restamped, and totally recreated?

The Yenko guys are all over this one:

http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/show...ge=0&fpart=all

This is good reading!!

I don't want to turn this into a rebody thread, but "it is a felony to rebody a car" is subject to debate. Depends on how one defines "rebody." Also, state laws differ, and there is a federal law, too.

Wow, very interesting reading over at Yenko - thanks for the link Mike. I watched that car go across and my son and I were drooling over it - I'm bummed to find out what a fake it was and man, that sucks for the guy who bought it.

I sort of got stuck in the middle of that discussion on the Yenko site, because I uploaded the ZL-1 auction to YouTube. Not only were the Yenko guys questioning the ethics of the car being a re-body, but it was obvious that there was schill bidding going on.

Here's the ZL-1 : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TiLf56NlDPc

Check out some of the comments!

Ask NJSTEVE He is a PY member here. This issue has come up several times in the past.I believe he may be an attornry of some sort and reboding a car is a very sore subject with him.I'm not saying I aggree with doing a rebody, but I would like to know how it is legal to register a dynacore 1969 Camaro body or the 67 Mustang body and have it be legal, but not be able to rebody a 1970 T/A or so on and so on.You get the picture. How would you feel about buying a 1973 SD 455 T/A with a Salage title ? That's almost as bad. JMO
