To answer your questions about the camshaft & followers, I have never seen damage to a cam follower like you have on the #4 Exhaust follower, it seems to have damaged the lobe some by your picture. Also it looks like most if not all the followers have visible wear on them. Usually when the follower is worn that much the cam lobes are also worn down a like amount. Another thing to check is the Oil hole from the block to the head, in 1966 and some early production 67 engines they had an issue with the alignment of the pressure oil hole from the block to the head. I have seen it misaligned so less than 1/2 the oil passage to the head matches up to the hole in the bock. It is easy to correct if it is there, I just hand ground the hole so match up, and modified the head gasket to match. This issue caused alot of early cam failures. It was corrected early in the 1967 model production. So not an issue with later engines.

Is there a recommendation for a complete clutch for the ohc with a 3 speed Saginew trans?

In Austria I don't know. I ordered the Perfection Clutch kit MU16751 from Rockauto. It was the cheapest one they offered. Bolted right in, pilot bearing was correct, throwout bearing was correct, no issues, Feels good, not too heavy.

Any Pontiac 10.5 offerings should work.
I just order mine as a GTO and everything is the same.

I agree with Jeff, I used to use Hays 10.5 clutch and pressure plates, same as a GTO.

Engine is waiting at the motorshop for detailed inspection to have a list of required parts.
Meanwhile I take care about other parts in the homeoffice. Intake ready after coating with por15 hightemp spraypaint and 2 hours on my webergrill |

Fellow Cammers, I need your support to select the best and correct parts, please!
Piston and rings: we have 3.905 bore, so it was bored already one +0.030. Engine shop says it must be bored again to the next available size. So this would be +0.060. correct? Which piston and ring set of which manufacturer would you recommend? Connecting Rod Bearing measured shaft diameter 1.990. The engine shop advises to further polish the shaft to the next possible oversize. Would this than be 0.020? Which size would this be? Which bearings and manufacturer would you suggest? Main Bearing measured shaft diameter 2.28779. The engine shop advises to further polish the shaft to the next possible oversize. Would this than be 0.020? Which size would this be? Which bearings and manufacturer would you suggest? Valves are there any valves (intake and exhaust) available with a thicker shaft diameter? Engine Shop says the guide needs to be rub out/straigned. As mentioned before your best bet would be dealing with either EGGE Machine and/or KANTER Auto. With my first OHC build many years ago I bought the pistons from EGGE back then they offered .60 so I would check with them first.
Also whenever I have a head re-worked I always have Bronze Guides installed, I would think this is needed to address your stem issue. I will also add that VITON seals are great for these engines. Cheers.

We will also go for a valve guide and use orig. available intake and exhaust valves. |

Oversized valve stems are pretty uncommon, It seems like these were available only to large rebuilders so the universal remedy is to use press in liners to restore valve guides.
Rod bearings are easy, seems like they are the same as Chevy? Widely available. Mains are OHC specific. Pistons, I would use Egge only if their cast pistons have steel struts cast in them to control expansion as many of their in house pistons used to lack this key feature. Jerry has been around these little engines for a long time.
I consider Richard McDonough & Jerry pioneers in-stock aftermarket parts for the OHC 6. Jerry has come to a point in life where he wishes to pursue other endeavors and is offering the sale of his OHC business. So if anyone is thinking about some of his items don't wait too long.
