I always make it a point to read folks signatures here on the boards... always looked at Mikes with a sense of humor. Hard to do that this morning, as it really seems to hit home.

I didn't even really know Mike at a personal level (beyond the PY boards), yet hearing this news is hard on me, and obviously many others.

He'll be missed. Helluva guy.

This is so sad. Mike was such a down to hearth cool guy who liked racing and hunting. He will always be remembered.

At a total loss for words. Mike would always swing by my place here in Illinois when he was on his way to his hunting farm. Often times , bringing the boys along. The boys went swimming in our pool a couple of times and my wife always commented on how polite and respectful they were. A great reflection on how Mike raised them. God speed my friend.

OMG! I am at a total loss to wake up to the news about Mike. I like everybody else met him at Norwalk and had the pleasure of getting to know him on a personal level. Mike and I seemed to be thinking the same thing on occasions and he would either call or I would call him and it was always the same thing. "hey man I was just thinking about you and was going to call you" and then we would get on some discussion about cars or him coming to Illinois to hunt. I went up to meet with him when a buddy bought his old trailer and had a long conversation and neither of us wanted to stop and go home. Mike you will be missed! John I am so sorry! I lost a close friend 6 years ago today and still have a hard time dealing with this date! He truly thought the world of you! Godspeed and prayers to his family! its just not supposed to be like this.

I didn't get to know Mike personally but had a couple of really fascinating phone conversations with him about fast Pontiacs. Huge loss. A couple of thoughts:

Live life large, you never know when your last day is coming. (I sensed Mike did this).

Racing is dangerous but public roads are worse.

RIP Mike,
Eric
