They will pay 65.00 for a core and they'll pay the shipping.

That is a quality reproduction! I wouldn't use Just Dashes, these look dead on to me.

Is this place in Oregon? I haven't been able to find anything other than a number and address for them. No website or anything like that.

I have been talking with Dean 512 964 9946 . No advertizing by word of mouth. You will need to send your glove box cover also .

SDX455 and others, sorry to be slow to post this but I only realized I had a problem last night. I had two dashes done by the outfit called dashboard restoration USA, Brush Prairie Washington. Started installing one of them in my '70 GTO and man is it crap! No sharp edges, everything is rounded off. The vinyl is extremely stiff, they're just plain junk. 1400.00 wasted. I don't think a person would notice all the subtle problems with these if they didn't have originals side by side...
Sounds like we have a new alternative in Texas I'm going to have to check out ASAP, I need 4 more recovered besides replacing these again.

Speaking of this Oregon company, Dash Specialists, can anyone post an up close pricture of the grain of the vinyl from one of these remolded '70-72 dash assemblys. I was very put off by the grain they were using 7-8 years ago, very gritty looking.

Tommie..were they able to duplicate the recessed area where the PONTIAC is on the dash? Did you send a 72 dash to them with the PONTIAC in there in the first place? Looks nice....can you get a good close up of the grain? Thanks
Pat

"$1400 wasted?" What?

If it were me, I'd be loading those dashboards along with an original into my truck and taking a road trip to show them what a correct dash looks like and wouldn't leave until they agreed to redoing both dashes correctly - and for free!

There's no reason for you to be out that kind of coin for their shoddy workmanship.

WOW! You stepped my opinion up a notch. I figured I'd bite the bullet, but spread the word. The work is crap, I was just working with them(the dashes) again tonight....Junk. But I don't have the time in what's remaining in my life to fight some shlock restoration specialists. Just don't use them! DW

Just Dashes are nice, and until now it was really the restorers best option....If these are as nice as they look. I'd have to see one in person. Based upon the shots here, I would go this route first.

I can spot a Just Dashes Dash everytime at a car show. They look nice, but to me they are off just enough to make me look twice at them. Too rounded and puffy. Some are better than others.

Default Dash pad

Yes Pat,I did send them my 72 dash pad they where able to make the "recessed" area on the dash.I sent them the pontiac emblem and they put it on for mr but they didn't detail It .Meaning paint the silver on the word pontiac. So when it came in I took the emblem off and did it myself, then glued it back on .So you might want to keep the emblem at home or send it to them ready to install .The one thing about the Recessed area,it seems a tiny bit smaller.Like the emblem just fits in there. But it does fit and it looks fine.I'll take more pictures tonight!
