I would value it at $12500. A lot of the value is in the little pieces that would take forever to round up.

There are some deep pockets on this board as a couple of members have offered substantially more that this.

se428bandit-i have had a couple of wagons, maybe you have heard of the RANDY WILLIAMS 63 2 DOOR RACER-i owned it after randy died.maybe you saw the flyer this year fot the AMES TRIPOWER NATIONALS.oh yes,i believe there was a picture of MY 61 bonneville wagon-ex nhra record holder doing a big smoker in the burnout box. guess that I would be a REAL PONTIAC person.what is on your list of wagons that YOU have owned?i have also owned 3 other PONTIAC wagons.eagerly waiting for your reply.the wagon that this engine came out of pulled up just a little short,as far as i am concerned.

Kyle,

I have heard two completely different deals about RA4 balancers. Both guys were RA4 experts (they told me so) and they were 100% certain.

1 -RA 4 has physically bigger or thicker balancer.

2 -RA 4 used stock size balancer but had a little x stamped on front.

One of them must be wrong. What does yours look like?

Theres is a different part # in Pontiac's catalog listed for RAIV only.

Enjoyed see'n the vlv train. Been 20 yrs since i've seen an original set up.
Think i may still have a set of nos rkr studs and prevailing torgue lock nuts somewhere.

Judge273. Is that an Armasteel or a nodular crank in that RA 4?

I can read Arma Steel on the first weight.

RAIV balancer physically appears and is identical to regular Pontiac V8 balancer.
Difference was it was balanced to a higher tolerance due to the high RPM that a RAIV engine would see in use

For investigative purposes I removed a little patina from this engine tonight. I cleaned the harmonic balancer and compared it to two others and I can see no visual differences. There was alot of paint missing on the outside ring so the surface rust hid any markings that may have been there. From what I see there is no difference from a "regular" balancer.

Judge273, I just noticed in looking at the photos you posted that your entire casting number was ground off and hand stamped. It looks like your block was cast in April of 1969. My block was cast shortly after yours and the first three digits of the casting number is as cast but the last four digits were ground off and restamped. Guess there was little repeatability to this practice.
