most folks judge a 40 year old color and do not realize how it looks fresh and in modern bc/cc. You suddenly realize why the car was ordered in that shade originally. Anyway...sharing your joy vicariously, Ron! Been a long time coming. Now...the fun begins! Call if you need anything. I've got some spare time on my hands nowdays. Take care. Ron

Default Interior Blue Paint

Ron,

The car is looking good. If your paint color in the interior dash is the dark blue, I posted the PPG formulas about a year and a half ago. This was a Dietzler paint mix formula I found in original acrylic lacquer after searching about 3 years. It came out perfect. Both the flat blue for the top and the gloss for the dash face and just below windows. If yours is the medium blue, it is even easier to find.

I think you can find the dark blue formula by searching my posts, but if not send an e-mail direct...I get that faster than getting back to PY forums.

Scotty

Well, since I got it off the rotiserrie and back on the frame, not much has happened. Painter's trying to get a bunch of bike tins out before the end of season. He's supposed to start blocking again next week. I've been working on blasting/painting small parts. Need to get the motor over to Hillards, maybe next week. Got a ton to do if it'll be ready for next year, thinking maybe Witchita, but don't want to commit yet. We'll see.

Progress Update. The motor is at Hillard Performance, some talk about forged crank, 4in. stroke, 6500 rpm shifts, 230cfm 716 heads, roller cam, yada yada yada.

Worked at the shop today with the young Landis hanging the sheetmetal to make sure everything was kosher to proceed. Still lots of work to be done to finish up the finish, but it's getting there:

Thumbs up Well..

you gotta feel a LITTLE better about the project at this point! Once you see color and hear that exhaust note, you'll realize just why you put up wit hall this heartache and headache. I would have been there with Kevin today, but I had to entertain some tire kickers! lol Maybe next time. Lookin' good! Ron

Well, a little more progress in the last few weeks.

Last Friday I went to the shop with my repro. wheel well mouldings and drilled a bunch of holes in my fresh metal. They fit pretty well, but did require a little twisting to get them to follow the opening. Getting them in place is a two man operation.

And now it's blocking, blocking, blocking. The whole shell has been blocked once. More high build primer today. Then block again Friday. Then primer/sealer Saturday. Then wet sanding next week. We may actually get some color on it soon.
