Thanks everyone
I'm sure this one will be as much fun if not more fun than all the others, something I've been looking forward too since I was 13 years old. I'm counting on you guys and or Gals to help me along on this one. As Miranda said, it will be awhile until actual tear down starts, but I will start collecting parts now.

Glad to see you finally got your car!
![]() As for the so-called issue with the rear end, Keep the 12 bolt. If it has 4:10's, no big deal. It either means you have the good series carrier or some one used the fatter ring gear to make the 4:10 work (hopefully not a spacer). It can easily be changed to something more desirable for your driving styles for minimal cost. As you already know, if you need help or if there is anything I can help you with, just let me know, you've got the number. I also can get access to a true 69 TA thru a couple of the guys in Batesville. One of their buddies has one but unlike others, he's a crazy SOB and will drive it almost anywhere, anytime.

Thank you Rob!
yeah I know a lot about cars, (not everything,) lol, but nothing about rears in cars, Wouldn't know a common rear from a better more valuable rear, and how to know the difference or what to look for, but as always I'm excited to learn as much as I can, as I plan on having as much hands on time on this project as all the others I have worked on. As I get into this project I'll post in the appropriate forum in the tech areas.

I can see it on my screen...oh well, ya get the idea..when you get the numbers off yours, i have a guide to break it down..
If its run of the mill, id use it, if its something exttremely rare..well...id sell it and take the money and put it back in the car...they made alot of non-posi 12 bolts....only a few 100 really cool ones... |

MaryAnn
Since your doing a clone leaving the rear a 12 bolt is no big deal, leave it alone, your going to have a lot more issues $$$$$ than worring about it. Good luck and am sure you will do a great job in your quest. |

Can't get to the inside of the right tube without jacking it up, maybe this week I can get to it but here's some casting numbers I was able to see. Do these tell anything?

Congrats on your car find. It's kind of ironic though. I sold my TA clone and you found your car to build a TA clone. Good luck and have fun with the build.

Those numbers are on my 69 rear, ..if ya look its the numbers 1 thru 9 and 0 probably an internal thing with the foundry that cast the center section
on the front side on the bottom web is another set it is the actual cast number and is shared with 67-69 67 is mono leafs 68-69 are multi its an easy way to tell..heres pics that code on the front side tells ya date, gear, and which posi if originally equipped ![]()

Another pic of the numbers and letters on the front of the passengers side. looks to be a Dana, don't know how to Decode the other numbers and letters. Not sure what the circle with the line through it indicates.
