Dil just caught your build. I love it. Is this to be a street, street/strip or a strip car? Either way I love it. MArk L

I always liked white headers, it was just a pain to keep them clean and not have the paint burn off. Wonder if there are any flat white high heat ceramic coating liek Jet Hot has. I know one of the local coaters has a satin black a friend has used.

Hi Skip,
A coating like that would be nice but the budget only allows for white paint at this point. Mark, I'm building this so I can take it to a cruise night or car show, and also to where I can go rounds without a lot of maintenance at the track to get my groove on. Somewhere in the 10's would be fine with me.

Nice Dil! Back in the late 60's one of my neighbors was puttin straight axles under all kinds ofcars. Then got into seeing how high he could get his falcon jacked up. Also learned a few lessons on center of gravity in the process. Think he went as high as 5 ft frame to ground and rigged a rope for gettin in out. Funniest car was a 62 Rambler American with a 327 and gasser look. Big INDY car tires stuck out the side of cut out rear wheelwells. Execution rather crude compared to the nice work you are doing.
FWIW Rustoleum ultra high temp ceramic silver has been flawless near 6 years now on the headers in my wifes 69 bird. one stain from something got kicked up from the road and melted on. I just sanded off and touched up. Hope your white holds as well but if not I'll vouch for the silver being ok. |
