My '64 LeMans Conv. had it's original dealer frames from Doten Pontiac of Berkeley when I got it. The picture shown is with my '67 Conv plate in it.

My 69 Judge was an early zone ordered car, but it had a copy of the original sales sheet in it when I got it in 1979. If was sold by Epperly Pontiac in Christiansburg, VA to Robery Dolinger who traded in his 1966 GTO for the Judge. Robert still lives in VA, and I have been able to speak to him several times. Robert said that this was the first Judge that he had ever seen. (It is a 1C car.) He kept it until 1977. I got it 2 years later. Robert says that his son still speaks of the car occasionally and plans to bring him here one day to see it. I have a picture of the Judge with his 2 year old son from 1972. His son was born Jan. 1, 1970 so I can tell what year the pic was taken.

Epperly Pontiac sold Oaklands at one time and was owned by 3 brothers if I remember correctly. The last living brother sold the dealership, and I was able to speak to his son who is the Fire Chief in Christiansburg. His son did not have the desire to run the dealership. I have seen no evidence of an emblem so I assume that the dealership just used tags.

This was probably too much info, but it means something to me!

My 66 GTO came from Jones Pontiac in Lancaster, PA. Seeing I'm the 3rd owner I'm not sure if it came with the dealer tag or not. They did have them tho. I do have their vinyl grey Jones tag on the rear just above and to the left of Pontiac on the tail panel. Looks like it was meant be there as it reads 'Jones Pontiac'.

I used to deliver to Knopf Pontiac quite a bit back in the late 70s and 80s. Great people to deliver to.

Constantin Pontiac,East Liberty-Pittsburgh. Still have the sticker on the front and the key fob.Wish I had another fob.Also the original 'paper temp plate' for Pa. The drag car came from Mt Laurel Motor Car Co. (Rolling Rock Beer -they owned it-their salesman's car dealership). Have a key fob only.

Yeah, I meant to mention that the sign was taken out back of the Marietta dealership...but it's the old sign from the original downtown location. That's why I took the pic.

Actually it stayed as Boomershine for several years. They used to sponsor some local POCI shows in Atlanta when we had a chapter there. That would have been in the early 80's. I don't remember when it changed over to Marietta GMC Pontiac. That was the name when I was working at the GMC store in Gainesville. I used to do a lot of dealer trades with them.

BTW, didn't you say your 66 came from Taber? If so, PM me your mailing address and I'll send you something interesting you might like to have for your car.

Mine was sold new at Boomershine in Atlanta. Still has the original dealer plate installed and mostly original paint. However, over the years Boomershine became Boomershin.

The Ultimate GTO site has a list of dealers w/numbers.

Now, my car.
Delivered to the Zone Office in Portland, OR.
Then shipped to the Seattle area to an independent company who prepped it.
They delivered it to a parking lot where I picked it up at the Seattle airport.
We put the plates on it and I drove away.
No stickers.
My dealer is not on the list either.

My '70 Trans Am came from Stampede Motors in Calgary Alberta.... No dealer tags on the car with the exception of "Made in Canada" on the inner fender.

But I would like to know if anyone still has their temporary paper/cardboard license plate.

For almost 15 years I've been searching for a sticker or license plate frame, or anything really from Midwest Auto Co, Winner South Dakota. My '64 Pontiac was bought new there.

Anyone see something, let me know. The dealer was sold in the 1980's, and the new owner (and old owner) say nothing is left....

I have all the paperwork for the sell. I didn't have a paper tag. I transfered the tags from my 73 Catalina I used for a trade.

My '73 GTO was bought new at Dick Ide Pontiac in Rochester, NY. When I bought the car 2 years ago, it still had the dealer nameplate screwed to the trunklid.

It has since been removed in favor for a "Hurst Equipped" nameplate.

My 74 SD Formula was originally purchased new at Schoon Motor's in early July of 74.The first owner after bringing the car home removed the sticker type dealer emblem as he did'nt like it.The second owner did'nt care about it either.I on the other hand thought because the car was still wearing it's original paint should have it back on.I purchased the car in April 2003 and it took me until December of 2010 to find one,but I did and I plan on putting it on the car.Schoon motor's sold the business in the early 90's,they had 3 location's all in Minnesota.

My 78 Trans Am was bought new at Norberg Motors Ltd in Williams Lake British Columbia. They must have closed up or got sold because I have never found any info on them.

I just looked at my "1968 Billing History" and the 'Ship to' is blank but the 'Charge to' is 04 / 149. From the link below that would be Fenner Pontiac Inc, 1200 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD. No dealer advertising on my, at the time, 10 year old car.

Did a search on them and found a Land Rover dealer and Best Buy at that addy.

Don't know if it actually sold there, but I'm sure it did not make it all the way to SC to be sold at Murphy Cadillac-Pontiac in Spartanburg as I had always thought.
