Which 428 is that engine code?

Alvin:

As far as 3-speeds are concerned, I can tell you that 144 2+2s were built with a 3-speed in 1967. Of those, none of them were HOs. This was on Fred's chart. I don't have any other 3-speed info otherwise, which makes me wonder if the 3-speed was available on the HO? I would think it would be standard because it was usually standard fare for most engines aside of top dogs like RAIV, Hemi, LS6, etc. The Stage 1 came standard with the 3-speed, interestingly enough.

373 sticks were built, which includes 3-speeds unless it wasn't offered on the HO. And, using deductive reasoning, we know that 144 of those were 2+2s . . . assuming I'm doing this right.

My dad special ordered a '67 2+2.... though it was a 360hp 4 speed with a hood tach.... In around 1974... he purchased a '67 Ventura that was a 428HO 4 speed...... So... any idea on how many Venturas with that combo were produced???

Maybe I should rip the 428 out of my '69 and stick it in my '67..

I think the Ventura was an option on the Catalina, right? If info on the combo exists, I don't have it.

However, I know based on the paperwork that 436 428HO Catalinas were built. We also know that 261 2+2s were built with the 428HO, based on Fred Simmonds' matrix. Hence, I would think 175 "regular" Catalinas were built with the HO, and that would include Venturas too.

If I am mistaken about the Ventura's status as an option package, please let me know because then I'm most certainly wrong about the above.

Yes, the Ventura was an option package on the Catalina as was the 2+2.

Default GM Heritage Center Pontiac information package contents?

What does a GM Heritage Center Pontiac information package contain? At only $50 each, what models will be offered?

When I last visited the website last week and attempted to load the 1973 Chevelle packet example it never did load…just a blank page. So you don’t have to ask: Yes, using the fastest internet speed/software/hardware/etc. here on this end.

At that time there was no Pontiac package available. Any expected launch dates?
Is there any way you could post a PDF (or other image) example of the package here for all to see?

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply CG (on the 73-77 Abody thread) and Thank you for the offer.

FYI follow-up for all here, An Adobe plug-in update allowed viewing of the same on this end.

And yes, the first page of each "package" is a blank white sheet.

I don't think the matrices he did were ever published, but info from them would appear in magazines from time to time. The matrices eventually got into the hands of hobbyists.
