A big ****ing DOG works well also. My 130# Black Lab used to sleep under the rear bumper or by the door.
he wouldn't bother someone until they touched the car.

Never lock a convertible, if someone sees something and wants in, its as easy as cutting the top. I drive my car everywhere, except the ghetto (did once lol), and I park it with the wheels fully turned and make sure the wheel locks after shutting it off. At least it won't be as easy as rolling it straight out of a parking space, would require what little time it takes to break the steering lock.

I knew someone who had a line lock with a separate battery on their car. Would set the brakes fully when leaving it somewhere so it would be much harder to tow it out of a spot. Not sure how good that was on the brake lines though. I think he would change the flex lines every other year.

Wouldn't it be cool if you could power up the door handles with Power or a taser to knock them on their buts. :-) just have to remember to turn it off so you dont zap yourself.

You might go at least .40 caliber, more if you want to disable the flatbed. In the lovely state of Illinois you might get arrested until the cops check your FOID and decide you are OK. According to Illinois law (for you POCI attendees):

I'll remember to stay out of Illinois then...we are an open carry state, just need the license to pull my shirt over it. And honestly i would not brandish a weapon for vehicle theft, thats what insurance is for, let them take it, just gives me a reason and the money to build another. Now a car jacking is a different story, i would not hesitate to put a .40 cal hole through my door and in their sternum.

Concealed Pistol License, different states have different names that is why if traveling you need to check the laws of the states you will be traveling through and comply with local ordinances...ours used to be CCW. Just had over a thousand dollars in tools taken from the cab of my truck...in my driveway, next to the house with 2 labs that bark at the drop of a hat, if they want something they will try and take it

See here pistol has nothing to do with it sorta. Here technically mace is a weapon. So here with a CWL; you can carry hand gun, nun chaka or nun chucks, knives or any other legal weapon. Obviously you can not carry fully auto weapons of any kind, sawed off shot guns or any other illegal weapon.

with regards to the club style steering locks ,there fairly useless.i knew the style with the chrome shaft with machined rings could be defeated by hand ,[simply grab in the middle and pull]so i purchased the style with the steel box section shaft, seemed fairly sturdy,
well some scumbag decided that my toyota pickup was his and simply cased it out and came back with a hacksaw and cut my steering wheel in half!. dumb luck intervened and when he kicked the bottom off the dash to get at the ignition he damaged the switchbox for my lp gas system locking off the fuel soleniods .i woke up to the destinctive sound of a toyota gear reduction starter grinding over and over .he saw me leap the fence in my underwear swearing.man he could run! ,the filthy SOB stunk up my car so bad i had to wash the seatcovers!

friend on a forum made them, have threaded Teflon inserts in them. I will see if he is still making them. he also has wheel valve stem caps.

Ive gone to car shows out of town, here is some of the thing i have done.

Some hotels will allow your car to park under the front entrance.
Ask if they have security, Let security know where your car is parked.
Cable the wheels.
steering wheel lock.
Rent a Storage unit for the night,ive done this more then once, Cheap
did this once. park the car at the local police station.
