Yep that is about the same that I found for my 64. Not enough demand.
Trying doing any search on any Tempest to look for interior pictures of cars with split bench seats. They are almost non non existent. Almost all the cars have buckets and seem to be GTO clones. Was that your comment that I saw that said I want to build one of those rare tempest cars instead of thoes common GTOs ![]() If funds were no object I wouldn't think twice about going the SMS route, just because of the fact of how rare it is to see one with the correct two tone vinyl. Again I would be looking at a little over $2K to have that done. The other route is just go with one of the other PUI seat covers. Only the 66 ones would allow me to do it in a matched set. I would still have $1K in them after buying foam and having a pro do the work. With all the research I have done now I'm still not sure what direction to go. |

It's starting to seem that the more pedestrian cars have been forgotten and it's a challenge to get the odds and ends...
I would go with Legendary as it's been so heavily lobbied here but they don't offer what I need... So, it'll be PUI... I will be doing all my own work save for the headliner which I will have an expert do... The other stuff is easy enough if you take your time and will save you a bunch of dough!!! I am hoping to have some interior progress maybe next fall? We'll see when more money is available. |

I look forward to seeing it.
I looked at several comparison of the legendary seats to PUI and distinctive industries and they do make very nicley detailed seat covers. I saw this on the Chevelle forum. More looking on the Chevelle sit I found that even the Chevelle guys have to use PUI bench seat covers. I wish that Legendary would even make plain solid color split bench seats but they don't. |
