with fender exits there is a problem getting the desired primary lengths and collector extensions. One ends up with something like this for an early bird.

Like the Headers in Post #43 and would look cool on your car, Jack.
You have to build new stepped headers for your heads anyway, A good fab guy could knock them out for you no problem. You could still run removable exhaust pipes/mufflers to the rear for Beer Runs. 45 seconds to drop the exhaust with Marmon flanges and an air tool. Ask me how I know.

I can weigh 3000#

I got it down to 3400# last year.

Easy fix, 1 3/4 primary with a 110 deg angle. Some 3" collectors and you're done!

Headers should be very close to a bbc abody right? I'm sure looking at some lemmons large tube chevelle headers should give some in sight

IMO Street cars don't have fender exit headers. I'm sure your chassis guy can work it out and build you a conventional header.
