Free publicity for their site shouldn't be a negative. Thanks for including it.

I have been given permission to repost the link. Fastest.Pontiacs.Ever is ok with the link...they just wanted to clarify that they are not associated in any way with our private 3-way gentlemen's bet. They have gone to some effort on their own to acquire funding to underwrite their reward.

So far, Steve Dale's "gentlemen's bet" is just among the 3 of us.

If you want to throw some money in the pot for the Fastest.Pontiacs.Ever pool, I'm sure they'd welcome that and all others.

Thanks, Eric. Yes, and it seems that questions were/are going directly to fPe, which is what caused some of the issues. I originally posted the link to fPe's reward listed in their email newsletter and website as appreciation for them contributing to the milestone performance, and since it seemed germane to the 5-second ET thread...not that it had anything to do with the current gentleman's bet. It's apparent in Steve's OP that if anyone wants to get in on the bet, they're welcome, just post it to the thread. If you want to contribute to the fPe reward, they would be happy to add you to the reward fund.

alittle off the subject, but any of you guys plan going NFC racing with your combos? That would be a milestone to qualify and then win a event!

It's pretty big money and I sold my 6-71 awhile ago, plus I can't afford the carbon fiber brakes anyway.

We're still trying to talk La Charite out of his '69 GTO body.

Cool idea! But......reliable sources tell me that one of the good contenders has a budget of $200k per year. That's out of our league.

Thanks! Main priority this weekend is finishing my license runs and dialing in the 3-disc clutch. Weather looks iffy for tomorrow but promising for Saturday.

New 3-disc clutch worked good but dropped 3 cylinders at half track. 7.186
Slightly scored a couple mains. Fresh bearings and we try again tomorrow.

We left the money on the table this weekend.
Our time slip says 7.06 but there were timing system issues and everyone who knows what they're looking at thought is was a mid-6.
Blackened the crank and #2 bearing again so we're done for this weekend.
On the plus side, I got enough signatures on my license form....last one was Tim Wilkerson.
Oh, and the Boss Bird and all of the team are safe and ready to do it again!

Steve & Vince......the door is still wide open for you. Who tries it next??
