Is that #28 Blue?
If it is, I was gonna paint mine a different blue, but that is beautiful!

Interesting info on the vinyl top seams...I have seen a few supposedly original cars and they were like this pic from the brochure.

That brochure illustration is not correct, all of '69 & '70 GP original vinyl top cars I've owned or others I've seen had the seams further outboard to cover the body "quarter to rear deck filler seam" so it will not show under the vinyl when glued down. Most all of the inexpensive replacement tops are incorrect and have the seams more inboard like that brochure photo.

I followed the thread not realizing it was just being built to be sold. I honestly didn't think the money was there for our GPs yet to do a complete frame off to have room for profit. I'd like to know what it sold for also

The car sold for $40,000 at the Mecum auction in Kissimmee Florida. I saw the car there and it was extremely well done. The person who did the restoration is very talented. Beautiful work all around.

One of my GP’s and my Bonnie 4 dr both have the factory Cordova tops on them, the vinyl seam at the back is in line with the edges of the trunklid.
My 4 door LeMans has the rear seams lined up with the roof seams. I assumed it was original but now I’m wondering. Ill have to remove it soon to fix a few bubbles, probably will be evident around the window openings if it was original.

I too followed this thread but had no idea it was being built to sell. Man, if you are into GPs I’m not sure how you’d do all of that work and then turn around and sell it without enjoying it.

@ 428ho4spd, or
@ north, If possible can you (or another member) post a comparison photo of "correct" and "incorrect"... I'm having a hard time visualizing the difference(s) Thanks! -Andrew

Thanks for the link.
I snipped a photo of the rear window area of the green car, and found a few other cars to compare it to via a google search (the maroon and dark green cars I believe show the incorrect instalation). I'm posting those pics here... Where does one purchase the correct top? My '69 needs a green top, and most of the larger parts vendors don't carry it in green, let alone a correct top (or am I reading the posts incorrectly, and should assume it's the instalation of the top, not the reproduction itself that creates the issue?) Thanks again, -Andrew
