Just drove his "Hurst/Olds" clone station wagon to school for the first time yesterday. In a world of EFI Hondas and other "transportation appliances", his carb'd v8 is something few fellow students understand. Having to pump the gas before turning the key? Pure sorcery!
Speaking of guns. I grew up in the city of L.A. and my parents house was a 1/2 a block from some fields, and at the ripe old age of 10 my neighbor buddy and I used to go Dove hunting in those fields. Rifle over my shoulder carrying a brace of birds down the street going home to clean them.
Can you imagine a kid doing that today??? Little by little the freedom goes away.
Besides do you know how many college kids think communism is a good thing? Look it up. No personal property you know.

The future will suck in so many ways. Can't wait till Artificial Intelligence runs the world.

I've tended bar for 37 years in a college town, also lots of locals. Pretty much anyone under the age of 30 lives and dies by social media and their phones.

When we were kids your narcissism expressed itself in things like your car ... yes we ALL have that desire to show off a bit ... these days it's all about what you put on social media, more than what you drive, have, work for etc. etc. It's all about that picture of yourself on social media and the response to it.

No wonder they don't care about personal property ... to them personal property means that someone else has something nicer than them and they are posting it on social media, which makes them envious ... but since they don't make the WORK-MONEY connection anymore ... they figure it's just easier if someone makes it so everyone has the same things.

Cause then of course, their beauty (imagined), intelligence (imagined), superiority (imagined), education (indoctrination) and worldliness (imagined) is what they THINK they will be judged by, instead of what they worked (yuck) for.

People will eventually clamor for driverless cars, not because they WANT driverless cars, but because they're scared to death of the liability for making a driving mistake.

Speeding tickets are already far more expensive than there is any logical basis for. What happens when every driverless car captures you speeding or blowing a stop-sign, or changing lanes improperly, and automatically notifies the Police, after capturing a recording (evidence) of your (electronic?) license plate and velocity via their on-board radar? Most folks will give in and be scared to control a vehicle when being surveilled with no warrant 24/7/365.

Man, I think you nailed it here. I see this lazy, entitled narcissism everywhere these days. Thank God my kids aren't like this. (cliche'?) not!

Exactly, And then they surveil you in the driver-less cars, and drones, and cameras everywhere we go. And we're letting it happen. 1984!!
