Correct.

Sold originally to an airline pilot from Newfoundland.

As for Pontiacs not winning trophies by popular vote I beg to differ with you MaryAnn. I've gotten quite a few from show attendees voting. None from an actual show judge. I don't really care either way as to me all trophies are nothing but dust collectors. LOL But I have seen judges at shows that know nothing about Pontiacs at all, and as such pass off a trophy to some other car instead of the ones that deserve them. I went after a judge up in PA over an unmolested all original 85 Grand Prix that came out of the GM St. Therese, PQ plant. Everything on the car was original from the assembly line...l even the tires. the car had only a little over 2000 miles on it and was perfect. The judge said it was repainted, hoses and belts changed, and even glass was changed. Not so and I spoke up to the people running the show. The man did get his 1st place trophy. He's even been at the SVGTO Club's shows and gotten trophies by popular vote.

What upsets me is someone that doesn't really have a show car worthy of a trophy getting all p!ssed off because they didn't get one. And I've seen some really poor sports throwing tantrums.

Gary most of the shows I go to are popular vote. I bribe them with candy bucket under the hood. .

As for the tantrums, there’s a guy with a red white top 69 CAMARO. I watched him get a 3rd place at a show for kids cancer. His name was called, he walked up for his award, wouldn’t shake the guy’s hand, then proceeded to throw the award in a trash can next to the award table. He’s been thrown out of several shows for causing drama, and not allowed back.

JohnV's thoughtful post pretty much nails it IMO, re the original topic. I don't see how even a Poncho fan can put the historical significance of the first Firebird on the par of the first "ponycar" that started the whole Bird, Camaro, Stang thing, the Mustang. It turned the car world upside down. The first bird was a hurried adaptation of the Camaro to bring a response on the coat tails of Camaro's response to the Mustang. After a 2 year lag of no market competitor to Ford. And it sold half as many as Camaro's in 67 which sold way less than half as many as Mustangs in 67.

Good catch. The hole left behind by a missing one ain't exactly what I would call inconspicuous.

So... Photoshop, or a dummy tach held by tape?

There’s no hood emblems on the second pic either. And the front and back wheel in the second pic have black lugnuts not red like the top pic. I even blew it up and they’re black.

Ok just under the wiper blade? I don’t know that could just be a blur in the paint?

I didn't know Stevie Wonder worked for Ass Monkey

Actually, I noticed that before but gave it the benefit of doubt thinking it could have been the camera angle. I guess not.

Default Truly the ‘Sweet’ spot...

You’ve hit the ‘sweet’ spot of this discussion !

Unfortunately Pontiac does not garner the same attention, or maybe Pontiac owners are just cheap (and it seems the latter is true judging by the previous comments), but if these were something Mopar, say Challenger (or charger or whatever) #1 and #2, a million dollars would be the starting point!
