One of the local guys I've known for years refused to accept the virus is real. I found out through a mutual friend he became sick after attending a Trump rally just before the election. It hit him hard, landed him on a respirator. His wife also caught it, but she didn't require hospitalization. The guy's wife told my friend he was probably going to sell his Chevelle to pay the hospital bills.

I hope your brother in law has the access to care he needs and recovers.

My comment is not intended to be political.
The guy's wife was the one who said he likely caught it at the rally. She has been very cautious about going out in public. She did the grocery shopping and they avoided bars and restaurants. Quote:

new Year thoughts for Tom.
Here is a positive bit of COVID news. A friend got very sick with the virus a few months ago. Never got totally well. A month after that had emergency surgery, burst colon, almost died. Doc thinks intertwined, but who knows. I was personal training her and she was getting buffed before all this. So after months of hell, she finally feels up to light work outs, just texted me. She still will have surgery again to replumb stuff in a month or so. what a warrior, so proud of her. fyi, due to virus I only see 2 clients now as the gym cleansing is nightmare. I wear mask. Glad when this tapers down. Prayers to all impacted in any manner.

FWIW, my 48 year old brother in law got it. Had it a couple weeks, bad cough but recovered. A couple weeks later was running with his 10 year old son, who was training for hockey. Brother in law has cardiac arrest. Not breathing, no pulse. Luckily neighbor was a doctor, gave him CPR until cops showed up with automated CPR device that restored a normal cardiac rhythm.
Its not the flu. Don't mess around with it.
