I didn't look at the polls either, and the only advice would be consider EVERYTHING!

Tire size and weight have both been mentioned, as has driving habits. It all matters.

I used the stock rear end in my 1974 GTO with original 4-speed, and an ultra-wide ratio transmission (1st gear 3.42:1).

With the modified 350, first gear is basically useless at WOT unless you like tire smoke! Car weighs less than 3200, well, more with me in it. But, at my age, I don't often need WOT. I could probably tub the rear fenders (I won't), and add wider wheels with ultra wide tires and stop the smoke, but I like it the way it is.

I choose the close ratio and 3:36 due to being closest to my set up. M20 with 3.9 rear gear, 29 inch rear tire. But conditions are different for everyone
so many things to consider, where is engine happy? How does one drive? What type of roads are you gonna drive on ( Freeway or country roads) ?
No free ways around here so 60MPH is good.
