Was hoping to see the screw heads on my old trim tag .
Didn't work out right now , but I took pictures of everything on that car that meant anything.

The screw heads are usually 1/4" headed with phillips head inside. The auction one looks like 5/16" or 3/8" head, which may mean larger hole underneath from rivet body, not small screw hole.

So, those numbers are the second 66-68. It starts at 01-99, then 01-99, and 01-end on a normal production model year.

Yes, I had the car twice, 2007 and 2010. The first time I bought from a Mopar dealer who took it on trade from someone in MN. He claimed that guy was the second owner. In 2007 I sent 3 73 SDs to Rocky, one at a time, for carb rebuilds, general tune ups and the distributors on his machine. This was one of those cars and I'm sure he'll remember it. He called and said when he pulled the dist he found it still had the big gear with little to no wear. I had already noticed the correct intake gaskets and notched head gaskets and we both wondered if the miles might be accurate or close but it was just a guess at that time and still is.

When I got the car it had rallys. The friend in FL who bought it the first time always loved honeycombs so I found a set. The rallys on the car were HWs so who knows what the original wheels even were.

It had a metal valance when I first got it and I put on one of the plastic repoes that were available back in the day. A decent piece but the originals had sharper leading edges so it's easy to tell. Still way better than metal.

I went back through some pics I sent to the Dr in TX, the second time I sold it and here's what is different now from that time.

At that time it had a full size spare, correct per jack location.

A correct headliner board which I had found and installed, Bows in it now but the trim is still correct for the board style. I'm not sure about the 74 sail panels. Maybe I didn't have access to white ones at the time.

By the time I sold it the second time I had rounded up all the correct parts for the 80 amp alternator setup and I see it's all gone now.

It had the correct round port with AC dip stick tube.

I thought I had put on a pair of correct, long, outer door handles or maybe got some after selling the car and sent them to the Dr.

It had the 4270 carb when I got it and both times I sold it I asked the buyer if they wanted to give me a little $ and the 4270 and I would put on a 3270 as I had a couple but both said it didn't matter to them. It also had a 74 4spd EGR and I put on the correct one for 73. Nice that's still with the car.

I think one of the door glasses had a bad chip in it and I put in another one. After looking at the auction pics of the glass it looks like it wasn't wasn't dated right for the car.

Those guys that passed on the carb swap must have thought you were pulling a milking scheme on them , or something like that.
I would have taken you up on the offer both times.

Noticed the jack tab in trunk floor for the fullsize spare.
Jack would be under the package shelf with no tab , or sliced off tab remnant in the floor.

The engine in my old car had never been out but did have the timing chain done by previous owner.
At 83k it still ran beautiful and was beautiful under the valve covers.

This one has had the timing cover and oil pan off at minimum.
And that's no sin.

With all the things I can see in the auction pictures , I think the old Registry notes are correct about the previous restoration and mileage.
This car has been deeply restored back when.
Well preserved since and the patina is catching up to it enough to maybe make some folks unsure either way.

I don't care what somebody pays for it , high or low.
The pictures are there on everything for a complete analysis by anyone.
It's a very very well vetted car now and that is historical in itself.

The seller is being very righteous overall.
Your uptick replacements have helped it too.

When I listed my car it had gotten to where it wanted the high idle cam until it warmed up.
16 years of crank ups and occasional trips up the street and back was probably why.

It was at my house now (then) instead of my building.
After I got a deposit I took her for 2 last spins all through my neighborhood.
And that symptom self corrected.

When it got to Florida for inspection , I could just reach in the window and blip the switch and she fired right up lke a new car.
Buyer didn't even test drive it. He was sold !
He still has it.

From 89-93 I kept it tagged and insured.
Put about 3k or 4k miles on it.

Yes, the more I look the more I see that I wouldn't have let it leave with. Someone on BAT already mentioned head gaskets but in somebody's defense, in the years after I had it, where would you find originals if you weren't in the SD community. . I know I would have been kind on the price difference from a 4270 to a 3270 but both the buyers really wanted to have fun with it over a 100% #s match car and more power to them. The current owner has sure been good about providing requested info. It should help him a lot. I know of 3 people who are very interested and not afraid to pull the trigger so to speak. Tomorrow will be fun to watch.

Steve, looks like 2 of the glass pieces have been changed out (windshield and DS). Only one of the honeycombs have a chance of being an original date. But, I still believe they were Rally II's originally. Don't know why it has a repro. '74 glovebox tire decal. The bow headliner and trim tag screws have ME staying away from most commenting. And, there was plenty of underneath fluffing at one point. Odometer is off enough to be either over 100,000 miles or a changed out unit (which wouldn't surprise me with all the other things making me go hmmm.

I agree , it's a good car and I'm thinking 125-130 at minimum.
Never know how frisky some guys will get though
Beyond 150'ish would be kind of desperate.

It's silly that he's still trying to promote 18k miles though.
We are just looking at pictures , I'm sure it's all even more evident in a personal inspection.
He's just never inspected his car before , and definitely doesn't know the ropes.

Seller has been good , but I don't think he will entertain an expedition into re-body territory.
Steve probably wouldn't have bought it back the second go around if he had suspicions on that.

It's not the car I would want by personal preference.
And it's just personal preference at that.
Red with White seats isn't on my top list.
If it was $5500 in 1989 as it sits I would bite real hard though.

Bob told him how to set the mil gauge properly.
Instead they used the setting that would give the lowest numerical readout.
Then buries all the commentation with a gazillion pics.

And claims they took the car apart to verify everything.

They removed the shaker and the glovebox door.

The reason he said they didn't have time to remove 4 screws to check the carpet tag,
Is because there was no tag there when they actually did it.

I will give some credit , and some discredit.
At the end of the day , he did improve his knowledge and there shouldn't be any buyer remorse.

The Registry notes should stand as they have been
With corrections to interior color and axle ratio selections.
