Here is a partial vin# 2V87Y3N1, please read thread #466.
After replacing the whole suspension, rebuilding the std. transmission, rochester carb, replacing the intake manifold, the clutch, I finally got it running right. (passed AZ emmisions) I have minor interior work left, weather stripping, driver side seat and both door hinges. The major ones is the paint and decals it should be close to correct. As far as the stripes and grill, I'll have to ask my ex-brother in law about that about why he changed it! |

Whats with these cars and sunroofs? If I blacked out my front headlights, our cars would be twins. Cool.

First off, how do you guys get the photos to save full size in your post as opposed to saving as a thumbnail?
I finally found a 1970 Formula nearly like the one I purchased in 1981 (when I was 18). The only difference is this one has guages and does not have a vinyl top (thankfully). It is a 2-owner (prior to me) Norwood car, one owner for the first 34 years, second for 4, and I picked it up in April. I found the build sheet grommeted to the springs under the driver’s seat. It was sold in Santa Barbara (I have the original CA plate and a pitted chrome plate frame from "Hughes Pontiac" where it was delivered and sold). I bought the car in Paso Robles about 100 miles north of Santa Barbara. Options are AM radio, rear speaker, PS, PB, AC, TH400, counsel, rally gauges, SS spare, wire wheel covers (long gone) and front floor mats. She has 69,000 miles, all original except that it had mid 90's Corvette wheels which I had the seller keep and replace with some steel rims and rolling tires. Since the pictures, I have added the PMD cap to the front rims (they are 17x9 and were $138 each from discount tire). I am waiting on my Wilwood brake fit from Prodigy Customs. In the garage ready to go, I already have sub frame connectors, solid body bushings, racing front end rebuild kit and front & rear springs (all from protouringf-body.com), new bushings for the stabilizer bars (front and rear) from energy suspension, a Eaton posi unit, and finally a Lee Manufacturing steering gear. Before all the usual guys start carping about an original rust free…blah blah blah, just remember that everything I take off goes in a box and can be bolted back on if some “has to be stock” person ever buys the car (that will be from my estate after I am gone). And if you are one of those guys and you have a rear spoiler on your 1970 Firebird, just remember they look better without them and they did not come that way from Pontiac, so lighten up.

No, I don't go to far from home. The only show other than local cruises that I try to make is the Indian Uprising here in the western suburbs of Chicago. This is a FAST growing show, I hope to see a lot of people from PY there.
