Did you see Enrico? You couldn't miss him at 6'8" tall. He had such a great time telling "tall tales" of his experiences back in the day. He owned just about every musclecar there was during the musclecar era. He even had a brand new 1967 L88 Corvette for three days. He returned it because he couldn't shift the four-speed without opening the driver's door so his knee could get around the steering wheel when he used the clutch. It was green with a saddle interior. They made 20 of them and his old one has yet to be found out there.

Yes, somebody pointed him out to me. Surprised he didn't order the car with the ASC sunroof, jeez what a giant.
Did he have anything with the VIN on it for the Vette, he seems just wonderfully pack-rat enough to have kept something? |

I've been joking with him about that L88 VIN. I told him we could split the reward once we find it. He has been looking but hasn't found anything yet. He blames it in the fact that he only had it for three days. :-)

The alternator belt that I need is a 483731 belt with the embossed logo similar to the photos I posted previously of my other belts. One of the other members here was kind enough to post the parts book pages so I will post them here for future reference.

That's great!
 Since the starters were HD, and basically nothing was HD until the SD came into production, they had some stock piled for them? (most blocks were K112 -1972)  Would be great if we had someone that worked there in that time period.

And now my search starts for the correct 1973 Delco X C89 battery. This car had the $26 optional maintenance free battery better known as the Delco Freedom battery. I believe it looks like this:

The problem is that they give zero points (out of 30) for a fully functioning repro battery but will give you partial points for a dead original!

thats a shame as it would be the best of both worlds to have a dependable modern battery in it that looked near dead on to the original.

I sent my starter research to Steve Shauger, the head of Vintage Certification and they checked their records on the the 1,700 mile SD they judged back in 2011...wait for the drum roll...SAME PART NUMBER 1108436, SAME DATE of 1B11.
