Bucket seats were standard in the LeMans in 68. If the Decor option was selected it would have the wood dash. Shifter came with the console option. Otherwise on the column. Steering wheel is aftermarket. I believe the LeMans had the Deluxe wheel.

Best way to understand the 3rd generation A bodies is that mostly they just juggled names: Level 1 had cloth bench seat and minimal decor, Level 2 added vinyl bench seat, deluxe steering wheel and a bit more decor. Level 3 added bucket seats or armrest split bench and extra decor. Here is the breakdown on the non GTO A bodies:

1968: level 1-Tempest, Level 2-Tempest Custom, Level 3-LeMans
1969: the only change was the Tempest Custom was rebranded Custom S
1970: the Tempest continued, the LeMans name was repositioned to the Level 2 car, and the Level 3 was now called LeMans Sport
1971: the only change was the Level 1 car was renamed T37
1972: Level 1 car was now called LeMans, Level 2 became a trim option on the LeMans, both cars used the same model name, Level 3 LeMans Sport retained the same name and a new Level 4 model was called Luxury LeMans that included fender skirts and extra decor trim.

As for the T-handle shifter on automatic transmission console cars, the T-handle signified that the car had a 2 speed automatic transmission. In 68 all non-GTO Abodies with automatic were two speeds, in 69 both the 2 speed and 3 peed automatics were offered. The console shifter on the 3 speed automatics used a ball handle instead of the T-handle.

I like the "level 1, 2, 3" explanation... even if the Tempest and LeMans names were juggled... that makes no sense to me. Like calling a GTO one year and then calling it an OTG Sport the next...

That's LeMans is a nice looking car to me, especially the interior. I don't see it worth $30K but maybe some buyer needs that exact car bad enough to spend it.

73 GTO with 72K miles in Illinois for $22K BIN. My least favorite of the 64-74 GTO's, tho this is a nice low mileage car. It's just that $22K is a lot of money, so you have to really be in love with this year. if you had one when you were young, prolly worth it. The front end is what kills the muscle car vibe with me. Too much like grampa's Olds.

77 Can AM project at $2.8K BIN in NY. Won't last long. Those trunk lids are rare. When a Trans AM sits for awhile, if thieves get to it, they often steal the shaker, because it's easy. Same went for the trunk lids on the Can AM's, as a lot of real ones are missing it.

1999 Trans AM 500th Anniversary Dayton 500 30th pace car in Florida at $120K BIN. Car has 50 miles on it, so a trailer queen. I never liked the graphics on these cars. The 80's were way over by 99, and the graphics were way too colorful.... "LOOK AT ME" ... a lot of people didn't want that kind of attention. Prolly fun to drive.
