LOL...good one. Mine should be back from the paint booth in about 2 weeks. I did not spend or get the type of job you did though. Mine was intended to get the few spots of surface rust taken care of and protect it for a couple of years...at which time I might attempt to follow in your shoes...

Hopefully my 72 TA will be running around the Delaware area by mid-June. I don't know of any others nearby, and I'm looking forward to visiting the local muscle car nights.

BTW, did you bother to check whether the windshield lower ceramic paint line would cover the spot welds on the dash top? On some cars they're hidden, and others they seem to show. And when they show... it looks horrible. I fill them just in case...

Stopped by the shop today. The paint is still curing. He is waiting til Monday to start the 1000 grit sanding, and then spray the final white coats on it. Then, some more cure time and color sand/polishing.

The lower body lines came out very well. The line runs from the front fender all the way to the rear and is a very subtle scalloped body line that usually gets lost in the bodywork process and becomes a slab sided look.

Looks beautiful Steve.....that car is going to be a mirror. It almost is already even without sanding and final coat. Are you putting a clear coat on it? I know they didnt come that way originally, but I think its an upgrade many would agree with considering how far paint technology has come.

Nope, single stage white only. No clear coat here. I want it to shine like it did originally without being too plastic/glassy looking.

That's definitely true. Kudos to your body guy for maintaining the surface faithfully. I recall Bill Porter (designer of the car) talking about how much effort they put into getting some of those subtle surface nuances "just right".
