The Goat is GONE!!! To the body shop, that is. I took it yesterday. Now, I have some trim parts to buff and a bunch of stuff yet to buy! Norman wasn't real happy about having to change the color on the interior but he is going to.
Oh yeah, When I loaded all the interior parts that need to be painted I forgot that for each seat back there are two seat bottom sides. It will be cheaper to UPS the other two sides than deliver them myself. And,Eric, the 64 has not been painted yet. The interior is painted and the car has been jammed. He was supposed to paint the hood and trunk this morning. Right now, he can only paint before 9am. After that it's too hot and humid. Y'all have a good one.

Phil, did you try to find some Turquois SEM paint for the seat sides? If not do so for touch-up. You never know when you might need it. BTW.... the seat backs and sides are not glossy, they should be flat. But I'm sure you know that already.

If you had read the whole thread you would know that I was really making progress on this car until the bottom fell out of the housing industry. If not for that I would have riding in this car a long time ago!
Now, I am paying for it as I go. I will not borrow money to finish it. It may take another year but it will be free and clear when I am done.

I got some bad news from my painter today. We had a small problem with the trunk lid not lining up with the tail panel just right. It is straight across the rear deck and straight down the driver's side but a very tight gap. On the passenger side it opens up from the rear deck to the tail panel.
If we twist the lid to close the gap at the rear it closes the gap up at the rear deck area and also causes the lid to be short at the passenger side rear corner. And it opens the driver's side gap up at the tail panel. It looks like he will have to cut the rear end loose and "adjust" the quarters so the trunk lid lines up. Oh well, it's only money!

Yes. The car was hit in the right rear sometime in the distant past. I reckon when I took the body off the frame is when the it moved.
Norman said it isn't a major problem, he just wants it to be right. I trust him and know it will be right when I get it back. I am thinking that this will be my last restoration!

Hey Y'all,
Man is it ever hot and the humidity is way up there! At least we're getting a little rain. I spent about 5 hours tearing the other bucket seat apart and experimenting with buffing some trim. Anybody got any tips for getting scratches and small dings out? The springs in both seats were shot so I am going to order new ones from our host. I hope they fit like the originals. I spent $34.00 on a set of courtesy light lenses and a piece of windshield trim from a fellow PYer, another $20.00 on supplies and I gave my painter $1,000.00. Here are the latest totals. My Labor @433 hrs................$8,660.00 Parts ................................$12,286.64 Outside Labor ......................$7,801.00 Gifts ..................................$1,559.87 Total ...............................$30,307.51
