So there you go, sorry that they are bit out of sequence, and those links at the start. i think the pictures embeded in the post are much better.
The doors went well and very happy with them, quite a bit of detailed work, but persistance pays off. Thanks to Josh my panel man, who skinned the doors for me, while i did all the cutting, welding etc.

The last couple of weekends have been focused on the fenders, both originals were pretty bad, so i bought some re pops, and shipped the out here. Big mistake, they were terrible. contours all wrong, bolt holes incorrectly placed.
So we decided to remove the front brace and upper braces and have the originals sandblasted and re build them with donor sections from the re pops. 20 hrs work so far, with i would say another 20 to have them both blocked down and done Here are some pics of the gap issues with the re pops

I've been working on replacing parts on the convert top mechanism lately, it's all been sandblasted and epoxied now so I thought I would have a crack at fitting it, love that fork lift!!

Nice work! 40 plus hrs into just the fenders, some people don't realize how long this stuff takes. Keep up the great work.

Thanks for the feedback guys, im never sure if anyone is interested in my posts, but i know that documenting the process has got to help someone along the way, even if its just for motivation, or a reality check on how much time is needed. I really enjoy this work, i just wish i had more time to set aside for it. But im in no rush, so it will be done when its done.

I have a 68 GTO convertible that is going through the same process. The more I uncover previous owner work the more problems I find under the 10 gallons of body filler used to repair rust. I spend many an hour just staring at what section I'm working on and planning how to make the repair. My GTO will come back to life one day! Bryan |

I think a lot of people look but don't always respond. You have the right attitude as far as I am concerned, it gets done when it gets done. Putting a time line on it takes all the fun out of it for me, my whole life seems to revolve around deadlines in one form or another I don't need more.
One thing I've found for sure is most people have no idea what it takes to restore a car.

Update on the Re Pop fenders: After voicing my concerns with OPG, in regards to the quality of fit of their fenders, they have agreed to a 50% refund. The full discount was not offered as i bought them some 3 years ago and have had them in storage (apparently that makes a difference). Any way, good for them to give the discount. Funnily enough tho, they have not included my review of their fenders on their web page.

Had another milestone day on Tuesday. Engine now running again. Very happy, no leaks, no noises. Cut open the oil filters and all normal. 440hp and 520 ft lbs tq. Better still we have 400 ft lbs at 3000rpm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
