VERY sharp! You've installed 15X8 snowflakes - is this a WS6 car originally? I saw the Rally IIs in the original 'as found' pics and assumed not...

Well I ordered the WS6 and honeycombs but the dealer forgot to check the box! Definitely look better than the Rally wheels.

I'm going to dissent here. While there is no question the 8" snowflakes are a nice wheel, it seems like every single 1977-81 T/A has them or a larger diameter derivative. The Rally II's are actually refreshing to see on these.

How dare you have an opinion on here. Haha!
Yea I get it. In my other thread with my 67 GTO restoration I decided to go with Rally II’s and 3/8 while line Instead of the usual Rally I’s and redlines Local guys all told me I should of went with RallyI’s /redlines but every GTO I see have those. Hey that’s why they make vanilla and chocolate |

Making progress
In the home stretch now. Had to remove the interior I previously test fitted to do a few things. I have the seats fully assembled now. I plan on installing new dark panels and rear trim Polished up the original ash trays in rear arm rests too |

Had to install the hood and door panels and seat belts Its pretty much finished. I just need to put it up on the lift and double check all the nuts, bolts and suspension |

Glad you didn't retain the light blue interior. The tuxedo interior is much more striking. Only thing keeping this car looking like it did in 1978 is the modern T/A radials.

If looking for a future project that doesn't matter, I'd look at recolouring the seat backs to even closer to the seat upholstery shade. It's that difficult shade that in any other colour wouldn't matter but in off-white can create the illusion that the seats are grubby. It may be just the photos, and I'm being trivial, looks great. Again, the blue didn't age well, new or old could easily become a sickly shade.

Did any of these parts match well even when brand new straight from GM?

I know what you mean about the seat backs but as Canamman said it was hard even for the factory to match.
There are a lot of opposing forces. You need to find a paint shade that is not only for plastic but a matte finish too. That leaves the choices very limited in the rattle can department. I could of got something mixed too but after all the different shades of rattle cans I bought. I would of went broke getting paint mixed till I got the perfect color. |

Trans Am in the Wrapper
Obviously I spent the past 2 years restoring this 26k mile car.
No it’s not in the factory wrapper but took these pics showing as it would be back in 1978 Just waiting on a few prices of sales literature Special thanks to Mike Noun for the factory correct Window sticker |
