That's always the best way to start. Hell, it took me a loooong time to figure it out myself. But don't be mistaken, I have no problems calling Uncle Guido when the B.S. starts flying.

Larry I am sorry that you have had all of the problems. You should be ok with the piston to wall clearance if you use the right rings. Don't use the new total seals with the total seal at the top. As I had said, Ours blew so much oil out that you couldn't tell where it came from. Their was oil everywhere. It would only leak about 2% when you did a leak down, but just in the burn out it would have oil everywhere. When we took it apart you could see that the rings were fluttering and no ring seal. Like I said we honed it and re installed a set of file fits and had no more problems last year, But the real cure is a 565 chevy! 940 HP with one 1050 dominator on GAS!

I've never liked the TS rings. Y'alls much documented problems only serve to support that.
File-fits all the way in everything.

It was not the seal here also!! I have installed ALOT of these without any leaks ever! It turned out to be excessive crankcase pressure!! Replaced the seal 3 times. So we were dynoing and Dave Anderson noticed that it only leaked after we got off of full throttle! Right then I thought crankcase pressure. I installed a crankcase evac and no leaks!!!!
Obviously I am a very happy it is all over!! Wade and Mark were truely on the ball! Helped out with cavity dimensions that all measured out fine! Thanks Wade and Mark for the fast response!
Be Cool,

ACE-P.P.R.
