Nice numbers!

I think Slowbird's point is getting a pushrod past that intake port and to the lifter cup with individual rocker-arms is going to be tricky. Likely impossible with no offset rockerarms.

I think most going to want to use rockershafts anyway, they're way better than stud girdles and individual rockers. More ratio choices, lash setting is much easier to accomplish, stable with heavy valve springs, and they look cool.

Is indelible history being made to the tune of 2HP/cubic inch>>?

The intake #s are really good. What do you think the exhaust flow nunbers can get to ported out?

I went back and read the HPP article about the prototype head and it stated the ports were 1.300 wide x 2.600 tall.

Again, hard to tell by the photo.

Here's a timeline for Slowbird:

December '03, AllPontiac buys out the rights to the IA block.

May '04, AllPontiac has IA-II blocks for sale and ready for assembly.

December '04, AllPontiac buys out the DCI head.

Will we see them for sale in May '05? Very likely. Just sit back and relax, there will be some more info coming soon, trust me.

Bob -- Have there been any test on port velocity, and if so do you have numbers you can release.

This is probably a stupid street car guy question, but I was surprised the flow numbers were pretty much like the KRE heads and the eheads up to .500-.600 lift. Can you actually have a motor with .900 lift?

Its alive and running. No tuning and just a very short pulls numbers we have are in the high 7s and the torque in the 7s near 5k. They said that it no longer sounds like a Ponitac. Can't wait. I leaving around 4:00 A.M. for Cerlli's

Very cool news all around!

Looks like we're an intake manifold and an affordable crankshaft away from some 800 to 900+ HP Pontiac crate engines!

Great work AllPontiac.com!

seems to me that bob clearly stated this would be the case for the initial tests.

New update 02-18-05

We pulled the motor down to check everything out and found the pistons still looked new. The heads chambers look just like we put them on too. Rings and rods and cam ok.

D.O.A. report:

The Eagle crank did not like the horse power at all. After 21 pulls it died. May it rest in peace. It cracked the crank around the main bearing area. All the main bearings look good. I knew that we were at risk using the crank in the motor from the beginning. Racers out there should keep in mind when putting that much Hp on a motor will loose the crank and maybe there car and life.

We were looking to test these heads for fit and function and durability only. And they passed with flying colors. We made good horse power for out of the box.

Now we will put all that we have learned to the production heads and give you a head that will make all of the power that you can use.

This process is called R&D.

AllPontiac is going to make only products that are quality from the start. We will post the complete set up in a few days on our site.

I would like to thank all of you for your input on this and all of our projects.

Bob, I am correct to assume, that if you have to run an offset rocker, you would have to also run an offset lifter? </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

It would help. We are using parts that are out there made to fit a Chevy. Off set lifters, Valves and Springs parts that are for a Chevy. Off the shelf parts that are proven and cheap.

"people don't use turtles anymore" I am people and I use a turtle. What's the thought on not using one --in your intake manifold?

What the heck is that a Ford Fairmont???? Is that the Tiger head engine or another? Those look like E-heads.

SlowBird is correct. This was my motor at 718 Hp. And yes you do have to do a piston swap becasue of 14 deg for the E-head to Tiger at 12 deg. valve relief or recut the piston for both.

I will post more later.

Don, I think you made an excellent choice by putting it in the hands of Bob and Frank. Now we will all see your head design at work at a much quicker timeline. That is very good news for the rest of us.
