G'day Mike! From memory (not the best these days) I thought it was the geniune 426 mopar but it's missing the proper water pump and front mount dizzy. Probably BBC?

The side by side blower set-up actually serves some purpose.
Intakes have been built with that system for years. If you want the look and can use the capacity of two smaller blowers it works well. I ran a test engine at Ford with a pair of the 3.3L Lysholm screw blowers (each one rated 700 hp- 70 lb/min) on gas so the combined power was about 1400 hp. The cubic inch displacement of the pair was about the same as the 6-71 Roots blower but the efficiency/ Hp was far greater. JMO Tom V.

The engine in Gary Myers car is a 392 Mopar Hemi. At least that is what is listed on his website. www.garymyers.com.au I put mine together but was having issues with hood clearance and didn't want to cut the hood since it was just painted. I will be taking it to the Ocean City Cruisin event this week with the single 8-71 on it. When I get home on Sunday, I will be putting the double blower back on it and will drive it around without a hood for now. I shouldn't have any problems driving around here like that but the Ocean City cops think the Cruisin event is a fundraiser for the police so no need to entice them anymore than the scoop being over the roof with a single blower. The "no hood' look would get me a "put it on the trailer for the weekend" invitation. I will let you know how it works out in a couple weeks.

Personally I've always admired your car, but the 2 blowers make it look a tad rediculous.

Bill's going to mount a large Hurst shifter on there and point it over towards the driver's window, and hang out of that thing and work the Hurst to give it gas. He'll look like one of those outrageous "ratfink" T-shirts from the 70's when he's driving (LOL).

I think the twin blower setup looks unreal!, may not work the best but hey, it's his setup. A set of hemi heads would top it off.

I'll bet it doesn't run as fast as it looks. Saw Rick Dobbertin's J-2000 in persion at Capitol Raceway back in 1986. It belched so much black smoke when it launched you'd think it had a diesel in it. Went 60' and let out of it, puttering the rest of the way down the track.

Brian do you think this should make good power--talked to a Trucker friend and he said Detroit Diesel has been doing this for years--single and twin turbos into a GMC Blower. Specs for the 78 PRO-STREET T/A --455HO Block -SD rods--billet stroker crank--500 incher--twin turbos--8-71 GMC BLOWER etc.

It's been proven beyond any reasonable doubt in the past, that when combining so much artificial atmosphere technology to a gasoline engine, that it runs like hammered dog crap. That T/A is nothing more than a fairground queen, that would run much better without the blower, or without the turbo's. Otherwise we would have heard about it by now. Robin's T/A from the southwest would walk all over that thing...and on pump gas to boot.
