Here's a couple of pics showing the 60 with the chrome version of the Corvette style rallys on it. One is without anything for center caps except for chrome lugnuts, the second shows the same deal with that custom machined center I showed in one of my earlier posts on this thread. You will probably notice that the custom center looks "not positioned right" on the wheel, and you will be correct. I was in a hurry and did not want to take off the chrome lugnuts, so the center is not on all the way. The basic idea is there hopefully. The gray I used to tone down the center disc doesn't look real hot in the photo----could be the light, or just plain looks like @#$%. I if continue with these I think I will have to try some other colors or approaches. Maybe they need the Pontiac "Arrowhead" logo engraved on them. Before I got all carried away with these custom centers, I was toying with the idea of using the hubcap emblems from the mid-70s deluxe finned hubcaps, and adapting them to the "discs". I've attached a pic of those as well. The only reason I didn't pursue using the non-logo Chevy police cap is that I don't believe it has enough of a dome on it to accommodate the length of the spindles on a FS Poncho.

I like the big wheels on the big cars but not the wires.

Its a very nice looking car, but the wheels just do nothing for me. IMO, those wheels clash with the classic styling of the car. You might as well put a big aluminum wing and a fart can on it. But, luckily they do make different styles and colors, because we all have different tastes.

Back to what mike nixon said about the rally 1's. Pontiac definitly missed the boat on that one. The rally 1 would have looked outstanding on the big cars. Someone out there should photoshop some onto a fullsize for us. I think that would look better than the eight lugs.

Here's a pic of the custom centers I am presently undecided about using on the Corvette style rallys from my earlier reply---for what it's worth. I tried to post some pics of the same car with the chrome wheels on, but I see my files are too large----maybe later.

I would be very interested in seeing what that looks like together. I just bought some real nice rally 2's but you have sparked an interest. What size wheel and tire combo are you running?

Not so much a fan of the chrome. I like the centers in the second picture a lot.

I've got some high-tech steelies from a mid-90's Chevy pickup truck on my '64. At first, they were just temporary but the more I look at them, the more I like 'em. Gotta do something about those tires though...ugh.

If you leave the steelies on there you need to get that SD scoop for the hood and a nice cam and exhaust. That would be bada**.

I posted on here quite a while back. Just thought I'd update what I've done with the caps I was working on---they fit on the slotted "corvette" style wheels I have on my 60 Pontiac. They just seemed to be lacking something before, so I had some additional work done on them-----I think they look much better now. The pics kinda suck--hard to get a good shot with the glare off the polished aluminum.

A few friends mentioned the same thing, Hitman. A nice set of heads, a healthy cam and some 3" exhaust to compliment the longtubes would be the muscle to back up the image fo-sho!

you really should throw a set of chrome lug nuts on the steel wheels just for the stealth effect.
i thought you said that car was rusty? that's almost new up here. mike

It does need some chrome lugnuts. Thankfully, it doesn't have the stupid reverse threads on one side.
