Chris and Big Car People:
I, too, would like to have a paper catalog covering my 1965 Catalina Convertible. Like many, I find computer parts searches invaluable. However, in my garage I have a phone, some shop manuals and even summit and Ames catalogs. You know how it is when you need a part to solve a problem: you will deal with it (for example by calling PY) immediately. PY would sell more if people could have a paper catalog in the garage by the phone. |

As the owner of three 1966 full size Pontiacs, I also appreciate having a paper catalog to go through when I'm working on my cars. My latest, a 66 Bonneville convertible, definitely needs some new parts ![]() Thanks, Ron

Love one for my first gen firebird. Much easier to simply browse through. And a nice break from a PC.

I always liked paper catalogs. I have not been comfortable with computers and get frustrared easily. I want a paper catalog. It has taken since November to get one from Ames. With all that I do not want to buy from them. I have kmown Steve for almost 30 years and never have I been treated that way. I purchased a '69 Catalina convertible last November and although it is in beautiful original condition ( 75,000 miles ) I still need a few things for it.

I had a guy recently tell me that he got a new or recent print performance years big pontiac catalog. Could this be true?

It would make me happy. I prefer to order from PY, but find myself pulling the Ames catalog off the shelf when I need something.

I'm looking to move up to a full size wagon and definitely prefer the paper catalogs. My A-body catalogs have lots of greasy fingerprints and have loads of paper bookmarks. Just like my service manual. I don't want a computer in the garage.

PY'S COMING OUT WITH A FULLIZE CATALOG. THAT WAS 17 MONTHS AGO. PY SAID USE THE ON LINE CATALOG, THATS IF YOU GET THE NAME OF THE ITEM EXACTLY THE WAY THEY HAVE IT LISTED, THEN THE NEW PRODUCTS ARE NOT IN THE ONLINE CATALOG AND THE PRICES ARE OUT-DATED. TALKED WITH A GUY BOB TODAY ABOUT THE CATALOG AND COULD BE PUT ON THE "LIST". HE STATED ABOUT 9 MORE MONTHS. WOW! IS IT GOING TO HAPPEN. THIS SOUND LIKE THE CHECKS IN THE MAIL

Hi All
I'm the guy that does all of the layout work for all of the PY catalogs (as well as lots of other things). We have been working on a Fullsize print catalog for around a year already and I'm sure you can guess, it's been slow going. Our last Fullsize print catalog was printed in 2002 and there have been a lot of changes in the last 9 years that need to be made. We are also giving it the upgrade we gave all of our other catalogs a few years ago (ie. full color pictures, extended descriptions, etc...) which is also adding to the workload on this catalog. Additionally, there is a bunch of research our Tech guys been working on to make sure the info we have in the catalog is correct. We know there a lots of you Big Pontiac lovers out there that are waiting for the new print catalog. We already have over 600 requests for the new Fullsize print catalog. And we want nothing more than to be able to give it to you but there is still more work that needs to be done before it can go to print. As it stands now, I think in the best case scenario, the new Fullsize print catalogs could be available this Spring (2011). I think Bob's guess of 9 months is too high, but only time will tell. I hope this update helps a little and please keep your comments coming. Thanks Steve

I spend most of my day in front of a computer. When it comes time to think about cars and turn wrenches, a computer is the LAST place I want to be.
![]() Definitely a paper catalog. Charge a few bucks for one, if needed. |
