APRIL 2010

Picture # 181 hard to see but the floor at the rear seat area has a double floor because the new frame was higher than the original floor ,I didn't want the new carpet to wear out right away so I cutted and welded a second floor on top of the new frame to make the floor flat again

Picture #184 76 Trans Am speedo was installed in the car because the mileage was at almost 100 000 miles 99298 to be more precise , used a drill and a piece of speedo cable to bring it to all back to 0's so the day the Trans Am is back on the road it will be plug back in . This time around I will put back the original 1972 speedo back in

Picture #190 to #194 Photo of outside the Trans Am ,Picture #193 is a home made tow bar that I made in mid 80 because I was tired of paying tow truck to move the Trans Am also I done a wiring harness for towing the car. I installed the back lights in the car connect the harness to the rear lights of the Trans Am and to the truck that tows the car

Picture #210 to #214

#210 At the time I had the Trans Am on the road I didn't like the sitting on the ground feeling so I remove the 2 front seats . bolted eight 3/8"x2" long nuts to the floor. On top of the 3/8"x2" long nuts I used a 3/8 washer and cover the nut/washer with a spray can cap,a black one that I made a 3/8 hole in it . bolted the 2 front seats on the of the nuts/washer/cap to raise the seats by 2" and what a difference in the feel of the Trans Am . I'm about 5'8" tall so to me it was the perfect setting ,head about 1" away from the headliner .

Picture #213,#214 remove the lock knobs and covered the holes with the little caps that are used to cover the screw on the kitchen or bathroom taps

Summer of 2010

Ordered my PHS and received it in May Check it out and was really disappointed, because no mention of rims (honeycombs or rally's) also transmission option was not mention even do I knew it was a auto. Two weeks later received my window sticker and on that it said transmission was 4-speed close-ratio or a auto transmission and for the rims it said 15" rally II wheels w/trim rings. OK so I purchase a set of 4-15" rally II rims at a swap meet in Ottawa, rims code JJ for pretty cheap , the guy mention the rims came from a Catalina or something like that. I know it not the proper rims for that car but before I spend that much money for the wheel I'll get the Trans Am almost finish . Also on all the papers it said Trans Am shipped to Oshawa plant ,I was hoping to find out what dealership it was shipped to

June 2010

In mid July 2010 ordered the GM of Canada package and received it within 2 weeks . Gm of Canada has a lot more info (codes) then the one for PHS so if you're car was shipped to Canada it is worth the $60 cdn for it . THe first page as all info to get in touch with GM of Canada, phone # or fax # or email

When I received the GM package this one confirm that my Trans Am came with a 3 speed auto and that the rims are honeycombs ,like what the hell!!! So I call GM of Canada and talk to the person in charge and he recheck the info I received. He said all info is right because when the cars are shipped to Canada they redo the invoices so everything is in canadian dollars . I though of this for about a week and decided to email PHS to ask why the difference in paperwork, he also said that he send the proper info also . He also mention that in 72 the no charge option for the rims and trans and that PHS could not tell if those option were on or not ,so if PHS can't tell what was on the car why is it mention on the window sticker that unless specified the following items are standard on this model and it mention 15" rally II wheels w/trim rings. SO I have a window sticker that may be right or may be wrong but I pay for it . How could PHS sells info that may be right or may be wrong. I ask PHS to redo the window sticker so it said the car came with rally or honeycomb same as mention for the transmission auto or stick and his respond was the programming in the printing machine will not let them modify it but it able to mention the 2 transmission option so he send me aletter to explain it ,last pic

So with all of this I still don't know what wheels my Trans Am had new hoping that this resto somehow the billsheet will appear

Also on all the papers it said Trans Am shipped to Oshawa plant ,I was hoping to find out what dealership it was shipped to
Check the bolt pattern on the ralley wheels, your car is a 4 1/2 on 5" . Those may be the bigger 5 on 5.

based on the letters/info you've received, it looks as if it came with honeycombs, GM canada has the vin on the letter along with the PO5 option code listing them. Neat seeing the different wording used for some of the options between the US and Canada. It appears that the canadian cars were re-invoiced in a manner of speaking once they arrived at canada for distribution, perhaps some trade/customs regulation required that some of the no-cost options be more clearly specified.

His car should be 5on4.75... not 5on4.5.

As stated, the rallys you purchased could very well be 5on5 if they came from a Catalina. You may want to measure the pattern prior to restoring them.

Formulabruce and 71GP76TA

They fit ,I measured them and even tried them on the Trans Am tonight . The red ones (first picture) I bought at a swap meet in Ottawa for $20 for four rims w/caps (second picture) actually with 5 caps ,four stainless and one chrome . Picture 3 is a rims that I found at work last summer when we moved stuff in the backyard. It makes almost 16 years that I work there and never seen that rim there ,it was in a corner against the fence behind 4 skid of old loading dock bumpers and it matches the 4 red ones. Picture #4 damage to the front of the rim and Picture #5 damage almost all gone and rim almost all sandblasted , will used that rim for spare maybe . all 5 rims are 15x7 code JJ
