I think you are spot on bulletpruf with the different types of hobbyist. Although I can honestly say I never thought that this car would bring this kind of money. It's just $250.00 away from $18K. Not sure if the folks that are bidding on it currently know what kind of money it would take to get it up to speed, unless it wouldn't take that much to get it into safe driver condition. This is based on my abilities to work on it, not someone with your capabilities. I guess one could spread it out over years, but I would think one would have to spend a good chunk right off the bat just to keep it from deteriorating. I would hate to think that someone would spend $18K to let it sit and rot just because they ran out of money, and/or priorities changed. I guess it's possible though. Just trying to learn a few things about the judge as I have wanted one since I was 13. Why is it that you can get a base model 69 GTO that is closer to mint condition for the same price than it appears that this car will bring. I guess the car is in a lot better shape than what I'm thinking it is in.

This auction is not surprising at all, lots of people like to think what these cars are worth. I ask, if you owned it, would you take that for it? I bet not. This is a neat car with alot of potential.

I wasn't meaning to imply that you were trying to hide anything. My point was the pics INCLUDED in the auction made the car look good. In my opinion, it looks better than it actually is. I did actually READ the auction, I should have stated,"I wonder how the auction would be going if the pics showing the substantial rust damage were INCLUDED?", but thanks for the insult, you know I'm just a stupid lackey, throwing **** at the side of a barn to see what sticks. I hope you get 30k for this car! The higher the price for these kind of cars goes, the richer I am... of course, that is only applicable if I sold all my junk!

The Photobucket Album associated with those pictures has been recently changed to a PRIVATE album which means the pictures cannot be viewed by anyone via direct link. Only the administrator of that album can post pictures with the links tool within that album.

Therefore, the pictures that show the detail nature of the true repairs needed on this car were it to undergo a frame off restoration have been hidden from potential bidders. Not cool IMO

I personally would never buy this car at anywhere near the current price to restore & resell. I think it's a very restorable car and pretty complete but no matter which way you look at it you're going to be upside down in it. I'm pretty sure the same same thing is selling it now that did 44 years ago, eye popping orange paint and a sticker package...

No one is outside the scope of this question, this was in the first post. Some here need to grow up if they think being honest when asked for an individual OPINION. These cars have no bigger fan than myself. Judge hate? My car is identical to this one. You don't think I want this car to go for big bucks?

I think the buyer of this car at this price is going to greatly dissapointed. That is my opinion.

I know that this is just one car out of thousands of classic cars for sale now, but with the stock market at record highs, I wonder if the musclecar market is coming back.

I don't things will get crazy again like in 2005-2007 because the non-car guy speculators aren't likely to come back, but folks should have more disposable income these days.

Anyway, this car would have gone for $25k easily in 2006, so I'll be watching to see what it's worth today.

it was stand up righteous that the sellers even took those pics of the problem areas and posted them on P-Bucket for us to see.

They didn't HAVE to do that for us.
Just like they don't HAVE to do that on eBay.

Any of us that were interested enough to investigate - had that chance.
This car gives 2 different impressions depending which view you are given.

The folks on eBay will need to fend for themselves and use their own tactics and methods and judgements of pre-purchase examinations.

opinions ARE like a-holes...everyone has one and nobody wants another one. Car is well-appointed for a Judge with a few desireable add-ons. Not a "pattern car" I don't believe. Wouldn't mind doing it but I do not see much profit in it. Folks don't realize that if a panel or piece is a little bad or alot bad...still needs replaced!~ Funny...while doing one of our IV cars here...someone on this site asked what it would cost to do a car for him. I believe I said "$30-$40K" and was told that he could do TWO cars for that! I have yet to see either...so there is MY take on what someone's "opinion" is worth. I'm sure Paul can relate. Chatroom restos are easy...let's see your work before I even consider your opinion. Just sayin'...it's worse than bench racing!

I do not see how you can do the entire car, inside and out, top to bottom and include rebuilding the drivetrain, brakes etc.....for 30-40K. The math doesnt work. I certainly HOPE the musclecar market is coming back. I started mine in 06-07 when it was at its best. I hope to see those times again!!
