Beautiful car with such a lucky dog color combo. Congrats King

Just opinions since asked for them -
cant see any stripe that won't make the sides look compacted.

Even tho they were offered, the wheels dont even look stock with the molding package.
Dunno why i'm seeing it that way.

Maybe R2's
seems like it might even need hubcaps to dance with the moldings.

Should i be reading these AARP offer emails i keep getting ?

Now i know what it is i'm seeing
it needs body color Olds SS III wheels

The moldings are making it look like a 72 Cutlass Supreme in my subconscious
.. .. i think

Don, Looks good just like it is, I say leave it alone if you plan to sell it! If it dosen't sell you can always add some stripes. What did you end up useing to cut the wheel well mouldings? Vert looks good too!

Lyn.

Beautiful LLM, Don, well done!

I'm with Lynn - I'd rock that Lucy Blue beauty just the way it is, myself. Great idea to carve up a set of rear WO moldings and leave the skirts in the trunk, by the way.

I think any stripe is going to make the car look too busy looking at it from the side. I like all the molding on it.

Did the Luxury Lemans come with a different nose treatment? I don't see the Pontiac emblem that's on a standard 72 Lemans.

Don:
Looks fantastic! Love the color combo and the way you've done the rear wheel well moldings. I think leave the stripes off. My only other comment would be the tail pipes. So on a factory 455 with dual exhaust, how were they terminated? Did they go straight out like yours or did they turn down a little? Seems like the GTs and Sports had the same rear fascia that the GTO had with the cut outs for the dual tips on each side but don't think I've ever seen a Luxury LeMans with duals so I'm just asking.

Hey BJ - on a LLM the tailpipe ends should be turned down and slash cut at an angle. Should be aluminum coated, 2 1/4" steel pipes, no chrome. I'll try to find an example to illustrate . . .

Here's a good example of the correct appearance, slash cut and angle, but obviously these are on a '69 GTO.

I'm going to cut the tailpipe down and install trans am splitters which won't be right but a major improvement. I cut the wheelwell mouldings with a pair of tin snips and a cutting wheel to cut the bevel. Then used a file to smooth the edges. They look factory made.

Don:
I just checked out both ads and they are great. I love the way you interact with the tire kickers. "Buy the car and I'll put the drum in the trunk"...Make me a Stunning offer.."

Both cars look great! Good luck with the auctions.

BJ

Tire Kickers may have been a bad choice of words...Shoppers may be a better choice. You shopping? Can't go wrong with either one!

I really appreciate the positive comments from all of you. I do try to really make all my cars the best they can be and I think it shows but it's always great to be acknowledged by fellow enthusiasts for work you have done. It's a dam shame I have to sell these cars from time to time but I have to keep a roof over my family's head and there's other Pontiacs I always want to buy and can't have them all. I wish I was rich, really don't like selling my cars and all the bull**** that comes with it. I can honestly say though that this time around people seem to be genuinely interested in them. You still have the dealers that are trying to steal them from me but for the most part it's been a positive experience so far. I'm real close with a few people on the blue car and have a couple real buyers on my orange crate. That car is going to a classic car auction next week in Atlantic city if not sold by Sunday. Thanks again guys

I am happy to see a LLM restored with all its chrome trim, sail panel badge, and skirts in the trunk. These were around my neighborhood with engine mods, and removed skirts too, in mid/late 70s.

If I had the cash, I'd get it!
