I just don't get the know-it-alls who want to try to tell you a bunch of BS about your car that just isn't true. I can't stand it. I know I should just relax and let them spew, but it's just so baffling to me, a completely alien attitude. If someone asks questions that's fine, it's when they start telling you a bunch of BS that I just lose it. What are these people thinking? Their lives must really suck.

Had a guy come up to me when I was parked in my 72 455HO M22 GTO and started to tell me everything about the car and Pontiac themselves, Not one thing he said was true or made sense.

I try to have an equally non-serious answer/comment to their idiotic comment. As in how many people asking what my 61 Ventura was and my answer was 'that's a 61 Pontiac Vagina'. They're eyesight sucks, but they can see the 'V' in Ventura on the taillight panel and think I'm serious. Me serious .... never.

Or the huge number of know-nothings who come up to my 63 Grand Prick and tell me that they had one just like this, but a convertible and I say ... this is a 63, not a 67.

I've even had people 'buy it' when I tell people that it's an 1863 (including a counter guy at an Advanced Auto). They go what .... "I didn't know that there were cars back then" .... I say "sure, Lincoln drove a Lincoln". Truth is .... he drove a Studebaker and it was two horse power.

30 years ago I drove my '65 GTO to our company technical training center in Sacramento. Week long auto tech course. Another mechanic from our Fresno location was there, saw my car, and stated that he had a '65 GTO, with a tripower and a 389, and he was clocked at over 165 MPH by the police before he lost control and wrecked it in a fig orchard. He said he was running the stock 4 speed and 4.88 gears. I guess he had the worlds only 13,500 RPM-capable 389.

The sarcastic a$$hole in me would have said "165 mph with 4.88 gears" real slow over and over until he got it.

So, I'm guessing that it leaks oil for 5 days a month?
