You would have a very good engine with that number, naturally aspirated, or a very happy dyno.

Sounds like the numbers are all BS..........just make your own numbers up to get the HP numbers you want! Ill take ET numbers, unless your racing in 50 degree temps! LOL!

Agree. ET numbers really just say that you covered a given distance in a given time.
Like riding a bus that takes 30 minutes to get from point a to point b.
You don't really have to know anything about the Bus or the Bus Driver, it could be a monkey.
Or an autonomous vehicle.

Et, mph and weight tell the story, everything else is just a tool to use, imo

Dyno correction factors this time of year are quite often really inaccurate. Once you get past a couple of percent the formula corelation just isn't valid. I remember the head porters and dyno engine guys would be all fired up every January with sudden power . Only to be disappointed when the NASCAR season started.

I was trying to say cfm is not everything. Look, SOME of you it seems want to disclaim or knock what Mike, John and Scott did. But the numbers ring true. ET,weight, MPH right at, around 1200 HP. His heads still had the Edelbrock steel guides in them. And the 414 number comes from me. I asked him when I committed to buying them. But he did say they were not even flowed the last 2 times they were worked on by John. Could have been more, were never flowed. I think some are still butthurt the times were run with them.
Some people have more money, but not more drive and just big freaking balls to just do whatever it takes to go fast. Some cracked him when he had problems trying to do what he did . Break a piston, a 1400$ piston, buy 2500$ billet pistons. Oiling problem,go dry sump. He had something in him, driven. He did do it then died. When we talked he had the "last act of defiance"in him. I felt better every time I talked to the man.He was going HPs. Johns first set went459. Call it 460 cfm. Very last conversation I had with him he said he thought John could get 480 out of them. The 459 was with stock valve location. Mike said he was going to have the valve put where it needed to be to make the most power. going to put in effort like no other. One of the last things he said was he thought JM could get 480.
10 sec has the heads and Mikes old intake. His effort will tell a lot. But this is real street, no prep , one burnout, middle of the night cray $H!T.

Not for a second do I believe "this" "cfm"means this much HP.
Some people get rubbed wrong way when someone else goes fast.
Mikes weight, ET and MPH back it up. No dyno there.
BTW, Langer, Rex, Leech and others not mentioned are heroes of mine. Pontiacs rule.

This is the second time you've mentioned this about the guides, why is this so significant?

FWIW Edelbrock never used steel guides.

I think Dragncar is saying the heads didn't have a lot cut and slice major mods and pushrods near original location. And cfm isn't the end all of HP.

I'd seen Mike's car , it was impressive as hell!!! I'm not easy to impress.

It's great if KRE are going to provide a head that gives you guys another option. Didn't I just read somebody was was having trouble getting HPs or Tigers?

KREs flow bench does not read the same as Livernois Engineering's flow bench.
Holbrook's Dyno does not read the same as Steve Morris or Tony B's Dyno.
So what. CFM is not everything. Marcella has stated that deal several times.

I wish the Super Wedge Heads a good life, lots of sales, hope the KRE Guys keep improving them, and the new owners have a lot of powerful engines and fast cars.

The HP Heads have had a great history to date.

At my boost KRE's dyno had my engine at just over 1,000 hp............ in 90 degree temps at almost 3,200 lbs it ran 8.22. At Norwalk with a slipping trans and 85 degree temps I ran high teens - low 20's point being that No two dynos read the same period! Tom, when I talk to Chris at the Autorama ill be sure to mention that you think his Dyno is off! LOL!!

So are these heads standard push rod location? Do they require offset lifters? I don't see this listed anywhere.

So how much horsepower is an engine making if it propels a 3000 lb car to a 171 mph quarter mile trap speed ?

You go right ahead George.

I have been at Chris Holbrook's dyno for testing and he was the one who told me he was testing Mike's stuff the last time I talked to him, at the shop, before Norwalk. Chris Holbrook also tested the CV-1 engine that went into the Ford Mustang years ago. I was there for that testing too.

So go suck on a banana.
