When I rebuilt the front end of my '64 GP, I bought the big kit from Kanter. They had pretty much everything I needed and the quality seemed pretty good. you can also go on RockAuto.com or even Amazon and find many of the parts like ball joints and tie rods. They are usually cheaper than Kanter and have a good return policy.

OK, well if that is considered complete than this is likely the closest you can get to that.

Sorry about the kingpin thing- kingpin suspensions are before my time!! :-)

I tell you, no rest for the weary here on this car. LOL
That kit looks pretty good. I have used some PST branded parts and they seemed to be OK. The only possible big piece missing was the center link. I have to admit, I was surprised by how expensive all this stuff is. I checked at NAPA, they sell Rare Parts brand for this old stuff and the parts I listed were near $1200.00 for everything. Borderline crazy in my book. I am fortunate the front end and steering parts were already replaced when I bought my 62.

Looks great. Love to hear of people in their 20's and 30's owning and enjoying these old cars. Gives me hope.

Pan is back in. Lifted motor in the car. Not so bad.

Motor mounts: need modified. I am using the early mounts. When I put the manifolds in had a leak, it turned out they werent seated on the head. The ears of the mounts must be trimmed to fit the RA manifolds: FYI.

Bellhousing pivot ball: Making a new bracket to mount the pivot ball on the bellhousing, didnt like the old one.

Brute power clutch new is cheap insurance against issues, $69 shipped. 90104 PN

Muncie is going in place of the Saginaw. M20.

Hello everyone.

Got the car back together. New motor mounts, recurves distributor, new trans mount, new oil pan using one piece seal.

I set up the clutch linkage to my liking. See attached pics. It’s more like a traditional Pontiac setup. Stock later Pontiac clutch fork. Made up a bracket that mounts the Zbar block side ball to out of 1/4 steel. It mounts to the bell housing. Spring to keep the clutch push rod in place. Added a rod that allows the pedal to be pulled back via a spring in the car. This allows for setting a ~1 inch gap and ensure the throwout bearing is not riding the clutch.

I have another question though: how do you guys set up the accelerator linkage on these cars? Do you move to a cable setup? The stock linkage needed a new bushing. New bushing is tight and now the accelerator pedal is tight. I can put a looser bushing if that makes sense and will have a return spring in place.

Alright, car drives again. Needs more rear gear with the Muncie though!

Anyway, is there a seat belt length you guys recommend for these cars? I will need to get front and back.

Thank you.
Joel
