Interesting car. Looks pretty original. Looks like the exhaust has been updated (no resonators) and the engine looks to have been freshened with the wrong color. Master cylinder has no bleeders or bosses and the fan shroud is the 79 and up variety with the hole in it.
I say he won't get $140,000 for it but I bet it goes near $100,000.

Yes, I agree. I believe Greg from San Antonio sold his BG for around $130 +, and that car was beautifully restored.

That red oxide has to much red, the steering wheel and radio are wrong and why is there a 37 amp alternator with A/C? ebay ad # 140209777841 Gregs, car was nicer then this from the pictures I saw however it had a replaced transmission in it thus non matching number car. |

How do you know the alternator is a 37 amp? It could be the 55 amp that was used with A/C and no rear defroster. It wouldn't neccessarily be an 80 amp just because it has A/C.

Glad to see that you are feeling better now and that the memory is comming back. 37 and 55 have same size housings. The 80 is the big one and for 73 only comes with A/C AND rear Defog. MY question to this is; Is there not two Defog options? The rear blower type that was under the package tray and then the wire elements in the glass type? Did either one of these, combined with A/C, require the 80 Amp, or did both? ??? SDD

I'm guessing here but the fan would not have that much draw or added load as the electric heat type. My thinking is the 80 amp came only with the later (electric), and the 55 amp handled the rest?
Talk now Bob? |

I'm too busy licking your diff!
Blower type rear defogger combined with A/C did not require an 80amp alternator. Only the rear defroster (wire type) required it with A/C. Notice the call out difference. Blower = Defogger Wires = Defroster What kind of paint is this on your diff. It could use something!

Hey Larry, do you know if he accepted the offer ?
Opps, I see now that I clicked on the item. I guess thats pretty good deal for both parties. Good to see these cars are keeping there value in this market. |

Anyone see this ad? I was tempted to call, however it looks like a Canadian number and, with this economy, out of the country calls are not in my budget. Canadian SD 4spd, eh?

Well at least it looks like it has the correct 73 intake I need.
These are getting really hard to find as a single part. Oh, BTW, this is now back on Epay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RL:MOTORS:1123

You're looking for an intake? I feel sorry for you. I think I saw one about a week or so ago and the guy was looking for $2,700 to open. I don't think it had any bidders.

Oop, looks like you're still out of luck. One person ended up bidding on it. Oddly, I don't see the vacuum port for the EGR valve, but it does say LS2 without the "X".

This is the 74 LS2, no X intake.
Note valve location, not in front by cooling elbow.
