Okay, here goes my perspective. I got my first set back in January. (D ports) I waited over 5 years for them, and never heard much from Ron after I ordered. I did hear from Arron a few times after he got involved tho. They are in the car now and I love them. Now I'm waiting for my second set (O ports) I'm certain they will arrive too or I never would have ordered the second set.

Like I said, if you don't like it don't read it, simple concept. If you need some instructions in freedom of speech you could read up on it. I'll keep posting until I get my cash or headers.

Default Headers, where headers?????

Just for the record:

I purchase a set of First Gen FB, D port, 1 3/4in primary, 3in round slip fit collectors, no coating, 3in to 3in round reducers, tabs to be shipped loose with headers. I made this purchase on March 27, 2012. I paid through PayPal and ordered directly from Ron. He told me that it would take 3-4 weeks plus/minus 2 weeks.

After a few phone conversations with Aron along the way I was assured that my headers along with the other guys who wanted First Gen FB headers were in the works.

It is now over three months and still nothing.

Has anyone received headers of any type from Ron in the last few months? If so, please post how long it took from order date to receiving them. Perhaps I am just talking to myself. I knew the risks going in and am prepared for it. I was hoping that my order would also help others get their headers along the way.

So has my order helped? Or have I just joined the ranks of the rest of us simply waiting until the end of time?

This is the other thread about Ron's headers:

http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=700479

Please post on this thread or the other so the rest of us can find out.

Thanks

Default No Hedders

I had ordered a set of 2" Dports for a 1sr gen FB. That was June 2011. They were promised to me by the end of August. No show, call, email or anything. I called my CC company and they refunded my 500log plus $. I would pay $800.00 I if I could just receive them in a month or less. I can't stand waiting especially Obumer not knowing what is going on? I believe Ron builds a great product, but he has absolutley no idea of how to be successful. I just can't deal with the dishonesty & elusiveness. We all need the truth and a way to communicate directly with Ron, & a physicalgreat address would be nice. I want a set of hedders, but am waiting until I see a set done & ready to ship. I wish Ron could get it together. I have money, he just can't deliver as promised. Lots of people would buy if things were different. Good luck to you in your quest to get your hedders.

Hi Mike...yours and several other sets have begun the build process. Part of the headers are done as batches, where he bends lots of bends with the same 1 3/4 tubing all at once, then he has the switch the bender over to 2" and do the secondary tubes for all of those. In addition he then bends the stuff for the 2" primary headers. Once he has enough tubing bent he begins individual assembly on one set at a time.

I put him behind schedule because I pushed him to finish the designs on not only the 1st gen firebirds like yours, but also the 2" headers for that car, the 2" headers for 70-81 birds & 68-73 A bodies, as well as turbo headers. So I basically put him about 5-6 weeks behind. It was difficult for him because it pushed orders behind and meant no new $ flowing in for a while, but I am working on a deal to see if his headers might become available through another Pontiac source and having the maximum # of designs available seemed to be the best course.

As part of that push, when Ron built Roger Bolligers 2" set recently for his race trans am, we found out last minute that Roger's new engine was being built with a 4/7 cam swap. That necessitated going back to the drawing board for that specific set of headers and the tube order of the primaries needed to be switched around. When you do that you are basically building a custom set, and it took him a week.

So I apologize, but your headers ARE being worked on now. I just cant give you an exact date yet.

Tell ya what. I have a set I just installed on my 71 bird with round ports and they fit like a glove! Collectors above sub frame, backdrive linkage fits still, dip stick ok....
Not trying to rub it in but a fantastic product if he can pull it off. **** Ron, file a patent and sell the company/ design and retire without all the stress. Still pulling for ya big time.
All the best
Steve

You are a fool if fall for this scam. Oh, how I was beat up last year and earlier this year and how Ron is a good guy.

DO NOT SEND HIM MONEY, YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!

I will now say this, I did not want Ron to fail but he needs to now so people stop getting ripped off. Do not buy into this scam, you will be courted and promised and see others are getting their headers but the reality is in the above postings from others. His front man Aron will also sweeten you up and give you a "trusting" scenario but the bottom line is Ron won't deliver and your deal will go bad like so many others.

Sarge, we all know how you feel. I was reluctant to order from Ron because of the unfilled old orders.
Aron, who you described as Ron's front man, was totally upfront with me. He HAD a set of 2nd gen round ports which I bought.
You are right that Ron needs better business practices. In my humble opinion he needs to build what he can, send them to a "vendor" who can tell the customer yes or no as to whether they are available. If the vendor says they have four sets of round/D/ 1st/2nd gen/2" etc, the customer can purchase the stock on hand.

It seems there is not the trust in Ron in fulfilling single custom builds to individuals at this time. That is why he NEEDS someone to market his wares for him. Until that happens I don't think anything is going to change.

ok...now we're going to have to put a stop to this. Crustysarge, you make a decision now whether I take this to the administrators or not. There is no scam here, and people are STILL receiving headers. New and old orders. I have proof of this, and will supply it to the administrators. No matter what anyone thinks of the way this has been handled, it is NOT a scam, and you are committing slander.

I dont know for sure whether the administrators will agree, but if they do you may get banned from this board.

Under normal circumstances, 'scam' would be an unacceptable term. However this is not a normal circumstance. CUSTOMERS of Ron have every right to be frustrated and therefore will continue to be allowed to make comments about their assessment of this situation. I would ask that everyone involved try to control their frustration as name calling and threats really are not accomplishing anything. There is PLENTY of information supplied in this topic to allow new readers to make their own decision about whether to take a chance on prepaying for headers from Ron. ALL members NOT involved are required to stay OUT of the topic.

Chris, glad to have your input here. With my schedule this past week I had not had a chance to send you a note yet. I'll be happy to provide you information regarding the continued filling of OLD and new orders, if you desire such. Since James Anderson has now listed his set for sale in the classifieds and he is the latest OLD order to be filled (from either 2005 or 2006, I cant recall) I dont feel funny mentioning his name.

Thats right, an old order from 6 or maybe more years ago.

crustysarge, my only comment to you is that if this were indeed a scam Chris Cass would not be allowing it to continue on his website, and everyone reading is aware of this.

I would not be involved with it myself if it were a scam.

As for me being a front man? Sure....if you want to paint it that way. Front man for Ron, trying to help him stay in business and keep the headers available for anyone who wants.

Front man for the guys still waiting. I dont always have a lot of new info for them, but I try my best.

Front man for myself? Maybe...I am owed at least 2 sets of headers now. Yes, still waiting. I continue to let others get their headers while I wait. I probably have enough pull at this point to make my headers appear if I didnt care about other people waiting.

I too have been very frustrated at the pace of this. Have mentioned many times that I would do things differently if the decisions were mine to make. I try to give everyone who contacts me as clear a picture as I myself have regarding what they can expect. Most of the time I've been spot on...............the reason so many have come back and mentioned my name. But not always. Classic Driver Man is waiting right now BECAUSE of me.

Scam? No. Just because very few people post on here does NOT mean headers have not been built and delivered. I cannot force them to post, though I try to encourage it.

Call me a front man, if that makes you feel better. I'm comfortable enough with who I am that I really dont mind.

Default Received headers quickly

I ordered direct from Ron, and received the headers in three weeks. These are really nice, and I would order again or reccomend to a friend.
My car is far from done as I told Ron, I would order and pay for them if it would help him get others out so I did.
