Hi All,
It has been a few months since my last visit/post to the forum and I owe you guys an update. My job has me working out of town and I literally only have a few hours a month to turn wrenches. I received a set of Ron’s headers for my 74 Trans AM back in March. (Ordered in Oct/Nov 2011) Added an O2 sensor bung and sent them to Thermal Tech Coatings in Hopewell Va. Thermal Tech was very reasonably priced and had a 2 week turn around. This weekend I finally finished the work on the car that included a hydraulic throw out bearing and installing the headers. I have included some before and after shots for comparison. The before shots are Hedman 35140 painted headers. You can buy these all day for $567 (plus shipping) from Summit. They provide almost 2 ¼ inches of ground clearance and will drag on every speed bump you come across. They ship tomorrow. From the photos (I can only upload 5) you can see that Ron’s headers are a work of art. The ground clearance is more than I could ask for and the fit is perfect. They tuck up into the sub frame as well if not better than the stock exhaust. The photos do not do the craftsmanship justice. I encourage anyone who has been looking for a quality Tri-y setup that provides the absolute best ground clearance, and perform as well if not better than the mass produced 4-into-1 junk, to contact Aaron to place an order. The wait is well worth it IMHO. TB |

An update from me-
First- he is working on first gen FB D ports NOW. I have been in contact with Ron over the past month- He contacted Me every time. He has a program that helps him figure the best configuration for your car. So I gave him my specs and a week later he emailed me and told me the program said I would need bigger primaries than I ordered. So he told me he is going to figure out how to get the biggest primary configuration he can for the first gen FB but I might have to use a mini starter (I already do). I think I bumped myself to the bottom of the first gen FB d port list since mine will be the guinea pig trial and error project to see how big you can get into the FB, but that's fine. IT IS NOT A SCAM, poor business practice, yes, but I will put up with it because I KNOW I will get one awesome product in the end. MADE IN THE USA WITH CARE. Jason

All the old orders are not filled yet. Someone is going to be the last one to get their headers. I dont have a clue who that is, but until they are all done, someone somewhere is still waiting. As I said, the other J. Anderson is the latest OLD ORDER to be finished, and he too has been waiting since 2005/2006.
If you have to ask why, you need to go back and read through the thread again. |

Whats funny (sic) about this is that I was reading about Chas. Ponzi the other day,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ponzi_scheme and people had so much faith in Ponzi's investment scheme and hope they would fare better than the other suckers, they were actually sending him money even AFTER he had been convicted and was sitting in jail!! People just want to get in on a 'good deal' They dont want see reality. Its human nature. Well we all know Ron is honest and no 'Ponzi'. After all Aron said so and as long as folks keep sending hundred dollar bills to Ron so he can pay his rent one week and work on a set of pipes the next there will be glacial movement. I have confidence in people and predict folks will keep sending money and Ron will keep sending out an occasional set of very nice pipes. In what ratio remains to be seen. BTW I have no $investment$ in this deal. Im just an admirer of the finished product and hope for the day when we may confidently exchange money for product, not money for IOUs. |

The whole thing is interesting to watch is it not? Even after administrators state they prefer people involved to be the ones commenting, others still do. But thats ok, as long as we can keep it civil.....why not?
What I say is mostly on target. This is no ponzi scheme. Ron is delivering headers and LESS people are owed headers all the time, not more. There are no occassional sets of headers going out...there are many sets. You just dont hear about them. What watchers dont see is that Ron has been taking 3-6 orders a month since I got involved over a year and a half ago. Most of those orders were guaranteed by me, and they were delivered. With the relatively slow pace of orders it is hard to generate the capital to catch up on the old orders one by one but they are still going out. Most who get their headers dont bother to post here. 4 sets of turbo headers have gone out in the last month and 1 just posted in the boost section....like all the rest you never hear about the others. But at the rate I mentioned approximately 50 sets of headers have gone to their new homes in the last year or so. If people were handing over cash and getting nothing there would be a huge outcry here. Even if half those people never got anything there would be so many posts here my head would spin. And all the folks waiting to comment would have lots to pick on. Thats not happening. The people ordering now, are receiving pretty quickly...thats why you dont see it. Classic Driver Man is an exception, and as I explained to Mike I personally am part of the reason his were delayed. He and arrowem as well as roadrage david were delayed due to the new pattern for the 1st gen bird headers and several other patterns being developed...and I pushed for those to expand Ron's base of available headers. I hope this increases the # of orders. But tweeks had to be made to the jigs to accomodate the differences between 1 3/4" and 2" designs, and it wasnt easy. In addition roadrage david's and Roger Bolliger's 2" headers became a 4/7 cam swap deal, and at least Roger's were last minute changes which required primary tube pairings to be changed.....essentially custom headers, since the Tri-y design benefits from scavenging due to cylinder firing order.....sort of like a tuned pipe. None of you see Ron working with his customers when they have a specific application to tune the length of primary and secondary tubes to their engine build, rpm range and use......but he often does. What I personally wish is that the # of orders could be kept to 5 plus per month. At that # there is enough cash left over to order the materials for the old order headers and get them done. Some months dont see that # though, and so he scrapes by...and its a scramble to catch up later. As stated, the 2nd J. Anderson is the latest order from 6-7 yrs ago to be finished, and that was just this past week. The current build wait time is approximately 3 weeks. A little longer than previously, but the jigs for the new designs are a little slower to work with than the old designs, and he is working on arrowem's, classic driver man's and roadrage david's as quickly as he can. There are no IOU's. Order headers now and in 4 weeks they will be at your door. |

And as a final safety net, if I fail to deliver or stand by my word, not only will you be justified and gloating in your ability to come on here and put me down, let alone Ron...you will still have the ability to reclaim your cash through paypal. Isnt the world a wonderful place? Since you are such an admirer of the product, and just waiting for the day you can confidently exchange money for product, I'll be looking forward to your PM to build your personal set of headers. If you choose to have them coated (through me, since Ron still isnt able to offer it right now), I'll even add a bonus. My coater does black coating, and the silver. And he can actually do lettering for the customer in the opposite color. Whichever color you choose I'll personally pay for the following to be printed on your primary tubes. "I love Ron's Tri-Y's!" Since you are such a fan. |

Joe....I know for a fact yours are on the jigs even as we speak. The new jigs for the new designs required adding some pieces to hold them tight as the welding occurs. So they have taken a bit longer. But I do hope you post here when you get them soon

"As stated, the 2nd J. Anderson is the latest order from 6-7 yrs ago to be finished, and that was just this past week."
"The current build wait time is approximately 3 weeks." "There are no IOU's. Order headers now and in 4 weeks they will be at your door." ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++ Aron Im trying to understand this, if you paid 6 years ago you wait 6 years but if you paid 3 weeks ago you only wait 3 weeks? What about all the folks who are still holding their #$@ for months and years? Are you telling us they all got pipes? Where does their delivery date fit into this "not a ponzi scheme"? Lots of happy customers? sure, Id be happy too if I were one of the chosen few. All caught up? Pages and pages of posts from people still waiting a VERY long time say otherwise. Those who are getting theirs in a month or less because they are good at backslapping are not going to make a big deal about nothing. Its only those who are STILL getting royally stiffed that are posting the real news. It seems for years now every 4th or 5th or whatever order is just laid aside in the sucker pile so the others can move along. Where does their delivery date fit into this "not a ponzi scheme"? Is it who you know or just random chance that decides if you get pipes or if you get screwed? Aron you as an insider should know about that decision making process. How does that actually work? Are you the one who decides? You must be tickled with that much power. All those folks pleading with you like hungry kittens and you get to play the big man and decide who and if anyone gets what they want. Must feel great right? The number of people waiting 6 yrs has dwindled, and continues to. All those pages of posts as you say are mostly from the same 2-3 people, and as I've said before I UNDERSTAND COMPLETELY WHY THEY ARE UPSET. I have said before that I dont know who is next. Do you not know how to read, or are you basically trying to say I'm lying? Either way, its not important...so dont bother answering that question. I dont know. At one point I used to ask, but now I dont...old orders get filled as they can be filled, and I dont have any pull or say in the matter. I have helped people on both sides of this fence. Thats why OLD ORDER people have thanked me, as well as new order people. I too am still waiting for my headers...both sets. If you think this is a power play by me you have screws loose. |

BVR421.........
There is no need to attack those trying to help. That the situation is not ideal has been well documented and voiced by ALL. As unsatisfactory as the current situation is, we are where we are and anything or anyone who can positively contribute to all purchasers getting their hedders are to be encouraged. If you do not understand why the waiting period is so disproportionate, you need to read the thread and not just jump in spewing negatives and insults. Oh, it's easy for me to talk as i was favoured/lucky: I am the recipient of two sets over a one year + period. Both are of the highest quality and the fit and CLEARANCE make them really unique. |

HAHAHAHA---If you do not understand why the waiting period is so disproportionate, you need to read the thread and not just jump in spewing negatives and insults.
I have read, posted, and paid and I still don't understand why, explain it to me again, try and help me understand the part about paying and not receiving, that simple concept is where I am stuck at. I like how Roger B. gets his name thrown around a lot. He has deep pockets, I know him well. Must have paid a premium to get up front. |

Roger Bolliger paid slightly more considering they were 2" headers, and yours were to be 1 3/4". Believe it or not....as you will. The 2" headers are $625, whereas current price for the 1 3/4" is $495. So yes, Roger paid more than you. If he had ordered the same header you had he would have paid the lower price.
Ron had a set of headers he wanted to fill your order with, but he had no cash at the time to ship them or coat them, as you know. I dont blame you for your decision not to pay shipping twice, or coating for that matter. I dont blame anyone for being upset at such a proposal. Its one reason he doesnt take shipping payment now until they are ready to go out the door. However those headers went to someone willing to do it. Soemone willing to have Ron owe them $50-$70 (shipping) rather than owe them $450 (headers) and shipping too. The funny thing is if I had the pull BVR421 thinks I have you would still be getting a set of headers, not the pocket change Ron has been able to return to you so far. So much for my pull. What never clicked with you and some others here is that while I like Ron and dont think he's a crook, I got into this to help all the guys waiting.....by posting here the bits of info I had when Ron refused to post. Because it seemed to me the guys wanted any info, even if it wasnt new or great. I also didnt want these headers to go the way of the dinosaur. I ended up liking Ron in the process. Would I have handled many things differently? Sure. Would it have made a difference? Maybe. My satisfaction is that for every one of you guys that bashes me, twenty thank me. And I get to talk to them about their cars. I have spent hours on the phone talking cars, and I get great enjoyment from that and meeting the people who share a love for the same and similar things that I do. And I have helped keep the Tri-Y's alive. Old orders who get their headers, in some way shape or form, get them because I decided to try and help. So theres my power play BVR421. I get satisfaction knowing I helped, and yes it does make me feel good when it happens. Still, its been a headache for me too. Getting involved like I have has had its negatives for me personally as well, some of which is the time spent. I dont get a kickback on orders. There are easier ways than this for me to make a buck! And as I've mentioned so many times I'm still waiting for my headers. I had a set at one time, but sold them and handed the cash back to Ron to help out. And I still feel rotten some people are still waiting. Strange when I'm not even part of the reason things are this way! I'd feel elated to know its all done. Hell, I'd celebrate! I'm going to celebrate when it is! |
