I kind of like the looks of that just the way it is! (Stick-shift too!)

But, ouch - that tow strap looks like it didn't do the bumper any good.

By the way he didn't care about the rear bumper........he's probably willing to deal on it. How hard is it to get a car into the states from Canada?..........Ive heard its near impossible. I once looked at bringing a Toyota 4 runner diesel into the states but US regulations would not allow it. That was because it was a diesel though.

First, get very familiar with the title process in your state for imported cars. Making a visit to the DMV with hat in hand to smile and suck up to the LEO who will be doing the inspection could help. Best for you to have the seller take the car through customs and make the deal on the US side. Make sure the VIN tag doesn't look tampered with. That could cause you to lose the car after the money is long gone. Also inspect the car for illegal contraband before having it inspected by LE. I've dealt with the process 3 times in 2 states. 1 of the 3 wasn't without some stress, but much depends on who is doing the inspection.

After I posted I did a little research on importing vehicles. Anything older than 25 years is somewhat easy. You need bill of sale, title, vin plate on car that matches title. If its less than 25 years than you have to file paperwork with the EPA, FHWA and US customs. Vehicle must meet all US emissions and safety specifications for year produced.

If you need the parts yourself. No labor/time/storage money there if selling the parts.

Have sold snowmobiles across the border with no problems. Bill of sale with purchase price for taxes makes them happy.

I need a few odds and ends for my project. I have place to store. I could pick at it as needed. I just emailed him to see if its auto or manual.

I know of buyers for a '62 hood, fenders and grille. 4bbl intakes always sell. Some money there for you maybe?
