OMT,

This is going into your street car? What kind of torque are you hoping for with this set up. Looks really nice.

Yes, it is going into my streetcar. I have never measured or worried about the torque or HP in that car. However, it should run at least as well as it used to, which was 10.80 at 129.31. That is with about 165 HP of nitrous under each of the three carbs. Race weight was about 3800 pounds. Before and after are both 434 ci, but I did this one with a 3" crank instead of 3.25".

Heres my '65 wagon in progress on the frame rotator I made a couple of weeks ago. I need to weld in new mounting points for the sway bar (2 are stripped out so I'll go to 3/8-16 instead of the usual 5/16 threads) and the moved back holes for the new transmission mounting locations (Adding a Tremec 5 speed). Also I have the z-bar frame bracket just bolted in place now and It will also get welded in. I'll then sand blast the whole thing and paint it with eastwood's chassis black.

One more thing, I noticed that there are no stampings on the frame or rear end housing. This is a clean Arizona car so they have not been rusted away, there is just no stampings. Any thoughts on this?

B-Man,
What a nice "sleeper" you have. Very cool.
I look foreward to seeing more pics on it.

OMT,
That motor looks sweet. What a stunning job!
I hope to see pics of the car, inside and out when you get the time.

Well, I made quite a bit of progress this weekend, but I still have a full weekend of work to go. It will have to wait for two weeks. This is what it looked like at the end of the day. The hard stuff is done. The headers are all bolted on and the starter and adapter housing are in. The rest is just a lot of details. It is always exciting getting the tri-power on by myself as I install it assembled.

Good looking setup! OMT, do the high valve covers indicate a high roller cam?

The cam is a large flat tappet hydraulic. The lift is about 0.600", so I run full roller rockers. They require a taller cover, or spacing up the short one. I actually have another set I am going to put on once everything is in.

Wheel and tire combo: 17X8" steel wheels with poverty caps running 235/45-17 radials all around. A 1/4" wide red pinstripe was painted on the rim to mimic the look of redline tires.

This is a really fun daily-driver. Stock bench seat and column shifter. Runs in the high-13s with 2.56 gears (in second gear, TH400). I've had 'er up to 140 MPH a couple of times.

Has 12" B-body discs up front so it can stop pretty well, big 1-3/8" sway bars for cornering.

With another hundred horses they'll never know what hit 'em........

b-man,
love the Tempest.
those wheels are perfect, redlines at first glance but then you look closer.
I love subtle mods like that, well done

Nice, very nice. What a great car to have.
