Yep, I'm still waiting for that to happen! I ran Friday night on a crappy track, and spun all the way thru first gear on one run, 1.85 60', still went 11.64 @120mph, so you had better get a BIG NOS bottle if you plan on running us down!

Anyhow, drag racing is still about ET, NOT vehicle speed. If you get there first you still win, even if you have a slower car!.....FWIW.....Cliff

It's still too warm here but it's going to start cooling down. I've been doing more mosquito swatting than anything. I bought a Thermocell, and it works great, but, it smells like citronella. I've had people tell me it doesn't have any odor. That's BS, the thing stinks! It sure does keep the mosquitoes away, though.

I've passed on a bunch of small bucks but haven't seen the guy I'm looking for. He's a big 10 that rarely shows his face in daylight. They usually start moving pretty good during the seeking phase. Chasing is usually pretty active here about the first two weeks of November. I plan on dropping the big boy in the second week of November.

I've taken one doe so far. Damn those back straps were good.

One day we will line up, Cliff. It'll happen.

MD even if you are running 110 and at 3700 lbs that is only around 380 hp per the Moroso slide. My 400 and 455 both dynos (and different ones) were right on that, actually the 455 dynoed 25 hp less than the Moroso slide. So his 400 hp if a conservative dyno might run 111mph! Bet it's closer to 385 hp with that small cam and non ported heads.

3860 lb race weight and 110.68 MPH. I never claimed how much power my 400 was making, nor am I saying it's fast. I'm slow, I know that.

But for a $100 cast shortblock and a pathetic Torker II () and factory cast iron heads, that I threw together originally as a temp motor, it does pretty good. Basically just a junkyard special that ran a [email protected] on plain street tires at 3860 lbs the first run down the 1/4. That ain't bad.

Nice job MD! It's still too warm here for me to get interested in bowhunting. The big boys are just starting to move around a bit. As soon as we get a good cold snap to kill off the flies and mosquitos, I'll start doing a bit of hunting.....Cliff

Thanks. It was hard work. I'm exhausted. I was hunting the side of a hill along a trail about 100 yards down the hill. A little after 8 AM about 10 doe crossed the road and came right to me. It was tough beating that many eyes and noses, but I had the wind in my favor. I let the first one walk past me a little so that I had a quartering away shot, and I stopped her with a "baaaa" at about 10 yards and double lunged her. She ran downhill 50 yards and tumbled. It was a rough 150 yards to the road getting her out of there.
