Noted
BTW;
I would say that there are a couple of main differences. First, F1 teams build their own car from scratch, every single year. They manufacture the bodywork and many of the components in-house by themselves. Therefore, while they look similar, different teams have radically different cars and approaches. Indy car, on the other hand, features cars that are built to pretty much the same spec, with the engines being different, along with setup changes.
In addition, while Indy cars have a higher top speed due to their engines, F1 cars are able to take a corner at a much higher speed due to the emphasis that F1 places on aerodynamics and downforce. If an Indy car and an F1 car were to race at a road course, the F1 car would likely beat the Indy car by quite a large margin due to its cornering ability. However, since F1 cars are not designed to race on ovals, while Indy cars are, an oval track would show the advantage that Indy cars have in power.

I had no Idea when I started this post that fatefull day when she was AWARDED pole position for the Daytona 500 that it would eclipse 1000 posts.
I say awarded because I still believe her car was illegal.

As far as more post than other forms of racing. Its numbers, more nascar fans equal more post. Simple truth.

Little doubt of that. As fixed as American politics.

I'll give her credit, she hung on pretty well at a hard track to race on. Of course all the cautions helped her get back on the lead lap, and superior pit management from her crew chief gained track position. Of course she fell quite a bit on the last green flag run, but overall, well done for her.

With her finish and the fact that Mark Martin got caught up in someone else's wreck - Danica is still in 28th place in the points.

She still trails Tony Stewart - despite having run 12 additional races.

She most likely will surpass Tony this week in TX though.

Do the math, Champ. Use the attendance statistics listed at jayski.com. 2009 was the 'low" point of the recession. Look at the attendance stats for 2009 and compare those to 2012's attendance stats. You STILL haven't responded to the FACT that 45,000 seats are being ELIMINATED at Daytona. Not exactly a positive sign of growth.
I do read and comprehend your post. That's WHY I say "horseflop". You're a zealot whistling by the cemetery.

Really? I've seen her drive in person, and at just shy of 61 years old I know I can drive better than she can. I have a bunch more 1st and second places and it was all done in a span of 7 years. She has one win in how many years driving top notch equipment? The one win was a fuel mileage win that she outlasted the competition, no skill involved, the crew chief should get the credit for that win.

Her big problem is she has only raced on dirt one time, the top drivers have all done their time in dirt cars. The "Touring Princess" by passed the normal chain of events most of the other top NASCAR drivers took.

You learn a heck of a lot about car control racing on dirt that transfers into driving a NASCAR cup car. She doesn't drive close enough to the edge to be competitive and she doesn't know where the edge is, so when she tries to drive at the edge she goes over it and wrecks her car and usually a bunch more cars along with her.

I was almost impressed, but her lap times and clean car at the end of the race told the real story. Sunday drive'n.

I haven't responded to your "horseflop" because you haven't acknowledged how you failed to read and comprehend my posting about Indy...

Quote:
Funny, I used to live in Indy. My apartment (back in my bachelor days) was close enough to IMS to hear qualifying and testing. I NEVER found the people of Speedway (IMS is actually in the town of Speedway) to be RUDE unless you did something REALLY STUPID.
I even made a point to ask you to REREAD my post. Yet you ignored your to respond to your totally incorrect interpretation of what I posted.

I figured if you can't read and comprehend that simple concept - my posting about the attendance at stick and ball sports vs NASCAR was a lost cause.

Your most recent post only confirms my previous one.
