#3...Yes, Bill brought the car up. A 150 hp increase by bolting on a set of heads is pretty impressive. Period. If the car isnt sorted yet...well again, its the car not the heads most likely.

I really think you like this argument enough that you are willing to ignore what others see. MOST people would be pretty happy with such a gain. But I guess you wouldn't be.
... the word political comes to mind here ... it's more a matter of who does it now, than what does it now ...

If my converter was slipping that bad i would know it and have it fixed.

Sure sounds like you would have blamed it on the heads.

Sorry i don't blindly believe dyno sheets. I question everything. Ive been on the dyno A LOT enough to know to question things.

Sorry to give that impression, maybe its the heads maybe it's something else, i don't know. But i do know i wouldn't be using a car with issues to back up an argument.

Slowbird, yeah, dynos are funny things. They can be off, sometimes more than a little. So lets say......it was REALLY only a 100 hp gain. Still impressive. Still a reason to look for something else in the car that wasn't quite right.

Still a reason to be pretty impressed with a head change. Dynos dont win races. But they also arent completely useless either. They are useful.

And again...seems like you missed the whole point. Are you really dense? No, I don't think so. I think you have an agenda here. So let me make the point REALLY, REALLY CLEAR. Follow me on this one.......

Let's say you're a racer. I think from your picture you are? You make a head change and gain .2-.3 and 3 mph. Even if that was your only gain......its a fairly impressive one.

I wanted to buy his old cam when I bought his old HP top end. I was told the cam had issues and shouldn't be used. I don't know if he replaced it with an identical cam or something different. I recently bought a different cam from Mr. Poe, but I have no idea what it came out of.

... Poe's car now has issues huh ??? ... you do remember it was faster, right ??? it was faster Brian, period, it was faster with what ever issues you contend Poe's car had, those issues were still affecting the CV-1 combo, so it's still apples to apples comparison, yes ??? ...

... which resulted in Poe's car going faster ... faster Brian, faster with issues, faster ...

So his car didn't have issues? Where did the 150hp go? His previous combo (hp heads) dynoed at 820hp showed 770hp. So that's 50 difference, new combo dynoed 975 showes 830ish. If there is no issue where is the power?
I agree it .2 and 3mph faster. I guess if that was his goal he achieved it.

Nothing wrong with using a car that has issues to back up a point if the issues are pretty obviously not related to the point you are making. Its pretty obvious to most people that a car making more power but not gaining in ET or mph is not set up correctly in one way or another. Whether it is blowing off the tires, getting squirrely, converter or trans slipping or something else entirely. Sometimes its a combination of things.

Its also obvious to people who race that when you change a combo sometimes it takes time to get the car itself tuned to the new setup. Your example of gaining .5 and 10 mph might happen right off the bat...but it might not.
