Someone posted this today on facebook, in the Plastic Fantastic 60's & 70's funny car group. Some of you will remember this to be the car that Matt Dalton, Ken Keefer and more recently another Pontiac racer owned (it was painted flat black with traditional flames after Ken sold it and ran at Norwalk a few years ago). It was sold again, and the current owner installed a blown BBC to go nostalgia racing, only to crash into the tree and put it on its roof (again) last year at a nostalgia event at (I believe) New England Dragway.

None of me, but my car. Taken with a Polariod that spit the picture out the front of the camera. Quality kinda lacking.

First one with Hooker headers and side pipes. 2nd 3 days old. 3rd with Western Mags.

Way cool. A friend had a 76 455/4 spd just like yours. I was headed home from Jr. College one eve.
He pulled up beside me, pointed ahead. We both did the throttle stomp. It was a dead heat. He couldn't pull on me, and I couldn't pull on him. He had the side pipes/headers also...my car was barely broke in, his had about 20,000 on it. I told him I was disappointed the he didn't run away from me, having a 455. He had an idea of how it was going to turn out from other contests...

Picture taken outside of Brainerd International Raceway, Summer '83. Car was stolen 3 mos. later, never recovered (maybe because Police incorrectly recorded the VIN).

76 455 TA was rated at 200hp with 7.6:1 compression. It coudln't get out of it's own way.
