Looking really nice so far! I like the Olds gold instead of Pontiac Blue for a color choice... I do have one recommendation for you. I would do the break-in with a carb instead of the Sniper (at least to break in the cam). The tune that the Wizard creates for these engines is not very good and it will take some time to sort it out enough to make it run right. I'm happy to pass along what I have learned with mine, but keep in mind that I am running the Quadrajet version of the Sniper so some of my settings are going to be a lot different than yours.

My brother said the same, that we should consider using a carb for first startup. So my rebuild Q-Jet will have its pleasure as well |

Just curious if you are aware that you have a 1969 upper cam sprocket on your engine? Not an issue if you are aware that the cam timing mark on the 69 sprockets are 180 degrees off from the 66-68 models years. So the cam sprocket timing mark points down for the 69 sprockets. The sprockets are ID'd by the large cast P/N on the front. The other year sprockets don't have it cast like that.
I just noticed that going back over the pictures you posted. I found that out the hard way in the 1970's working on one of my early cars. Had to rotate the dist 180 degress to get it to run.

Anyhow my brother already mentioned, when all timing marks are aligned #6 does fire - which he thought is unusual. but with that info about the sprocket we did know why. |

Saw the engine on Holley's FB page, and never thought to look here since it was a swap! Can't wait to see this one finished. Any thoughts about painting the body to match the engine? I think gold would really pop on the Omega, especially with the black vinyl top. Best wishes on the project.

I see you have the filler tube blocked off. Is that just for the transportation of the engine? It does need to be there to allow air into the crankcase during engine operation.

You are doing such a nice job on this car. It looks great. With that houndstooth interior, it will be a stunner, not to mention the cool OHC engine.
